Are you a podcast junkie AND a Halloween enthusiast? Well that’s great because I have put together a list of podcasts you should be binge-listening to this October. All of these podcasts will send chills up your spine, make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and keep you coming back for more. I mean that is the point, isn't it?

There are so many great horror podcasts to choose from so I am picking a top 5 list of my favorites to share with you.

To get you started I’ve put together some episodes in this playlist below.

1. The Control Group (Seasons 1-2)

The Control Group is an IheartRadio podcast but you can listen to it on pretty much every platform. If you like psychological horror about conspiracy theories and nuclear fallout then this is for you. The stories are gripping and actually worth listening through a second time. Have party with some friends or listen on your own to get inspiration; either way you won’t regret binge-listening to this series.

2. The Lighthouse

Turn out the lights for this one and cozy with a glass of wine (or whatever you fancy). This is a narrative-like story about, well, a lighthouse, but something is not right. The narration and sound effects go excellently together pulling you into a horror you just can’t get out of.

‘Okay, now the last three could and very well might be part of a whole other post because these are all part of Grimm and Mild which happens to be home to some of the best podcasts and storytellers. One in particular happens to be the mastermind behind it all. He’s a master at storytelling, especially when it comes to telling stories about the macabre, strange, creepy, and unexplainable and that man is Aaron Mahnke.

3. 13 Days of Halloween

At the start, you will hear;

"Headphones recommended, listener's discretion is advised."

This one obviously I would say is a great way to begin the countdown to All Hallows Eve. The narrative is interactive as if you are with the narrator who happens to be the groundskeeper of an old manor. HIs creepy, modern-day Vincent Price vibes also really pulls you into the story. The stories are just what you need every day to get into the right Halloween mood.

4. Haunted Road

Here are some real stories that are told with intertwined interviews from paranormal investigators. This particular episode is about one of the most infamous axe murders in America. These episodes are the kind that will stop you from doing whatever you were doing while you were listening. You’ll find yourself just standing there and taking it all in.

5. Lore

There are tons of episodes of Lore so it was difficult to just pick one to put in this playlist for you. This is a remastered episode from some of the earlier episodes which are just absolutely fantastic. I binge-listened to Lore whilst on a road trip through the north of Japan and it made the misty, cloudy atmosphere so epic.

The Wrap-Up….

So there you have it, 5 binge-worthy Halloween podcasts to liven up your October. I hope you find these as gripping and addicting as I have. From stranger than fiction to fiction these podcasts will take you on some pretty creepy journeys. However, you will find yourself pressing "next episode" over and over and over.

Happy Halloween binge-listening, my friends!
