California

Knotts Berry Farm in Anaheim, California opened in the 1920s. The amusement park has attracted some ghosts that have enjoyed the park so much they have stayed. At Camp Snoopy, which has rides for smaller children, strange noises have been heard and lights turn on and off by themselves. Around some of the rides, the spirits of a maintenance employee and a young boy appear. Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant and The Teddy Bear Store have resident ghosts. At these places, items move all by themselves and things fall from shelves. Phantom footsteps can be heard as well as disembodied voices.

Disneyland in Anaheim is haunted by its creator, Walt Disney. The boss himself has chosen to remain in his apartment above the Main Street USA Fire Station. Employees discovered the spirit when they tried to turn off a lamp in the apartment and it just kept turning on by itself. Now the lamp is left burning and never turned off to please the resident spirit. To make sure that employees knew the boss was there, the disembodied voice of Walt Disney told them he was still around.

They thought it was just a spooky attraction, but the Haunted Mansion is really haunted. At the entrance, you can see the spirit of a child who cries for his mom. He wound up there after his mom scattered his ashes at the attraction. It is illegal to do this, but employees often find ashes here.

At the Rivers of America, the spirit of a young man has been seen swimming in the water. He drowned in 1973 at the attraction. Along with his brother, the boys hid on Tom Sawyer’s Island until the park closed. They were planning on enjoying the park by themselves. First, they had to swim across the water and unfortunately, one brother didn’t make it.

At Space Mountain, you can find a ghost called Mr. One Way. It is the spirit of a large man with a round, red face and red hair. He sits down beside solo riders and before the ride is over he disappears, scaring his co-rider.

Other ghostly residents at Disneyland include a lady in a white 19th-century gown. She enjoys strolling along Main Street USA at dusk. She is also very helpful in escorting lost children to the children’s care center to reunite with their parents.

Florida

Universal Orlando in Orlando, Florida is one of the most haunted Florida theme parks. At Universal Islands of Adventure, there is the spirit of a little girl. This spirit likes to get children alone, so they’ll accept a small black box from her as a gift. The idea is for the children to hide the box from their parents and put it in their pockets. There are those who believe the girl spirit is a demon and has some unknown goal in mind associated with the mysterious black box.

The Universal Shrek attraction is haunted by the ghost of famed director Alfred Hitchcock. He is an unhappy spirit because he was featured in the building until Shrek 4D took over. Being very displeased, the spirit slams doors. Unexplained, strange banging sounds are heard and lights go off and on by themselves. Hitchcock’s apparition has been seen walking onto the soundstage and wandering about.

At The Exorcist House lights, flicker, and unexplained weird noises and phantom footsteps are heard.

Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, Florida has a haunted site called The Serengeti Overlook Pub and Restaurant. Both staff and customers can see a lady in white and the apparition of a man playing the piano. Lights flash, cold spots are felt, and the elevator stalls between floors. The tinkling sounds of trays and glassware are heard and you can hear the disembodied voices of children.

Other paranormal activity experience has been the smell of cigar smoke, shadow people seen, and orbs that show up in photos.

Ohio

The Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio, is the second-oldest operating amusement park in America. It opened in 1870. One of the oldest rides is the Midway Carousel with hand-carved horses designed by Daniel Muller. Muller’s wife particularly liked the Military Horse and went to the park to ride it whenever she could. After she died, she appeared in spirit to keep enjoying the carousel. Even though today this horse is no longer a part of this carousel, she is seen visiting the carousel and sitting on the carousel horse at Town Hall.

The Kings Island Amusement Park in Cincinnati, Ohio opened in 1972. It was built on the site where a deadly explosion occurred in 1890 at the Kings Powder Company ammunition plant. The plant exploded and 100 employees were killed and their spirits haunt the park.

Called Racer Boy, the spirit of a young boy dressed in a white suit plays on the tracks. His apparition sets off motion sensors. At the White Water Canyon ride, a little girl apparition called Missouri Jane appears in a long blue dress.

At the International Restaurant, the Syfy show, Ghost Hunters got an EVP of a little girl whispering that she was looking for her mommy.

The Eiffel Tower replica in the center of the park is haunted by the ghost of a 17-year-old teenager named John Harter. In 1983, Harter ventured into a restricted area, climbed the elevator shaft, lost his footing, and fell. It was a tragedy when the cables sliced him in half. He is referred to as Tower Johnny and his apparition looks out from the tower or roams about by the fountain in front of it. He makes the elevator doors open and close, and at times one of the cars on a ride will move up and down the track by itself.

Texas

The first Six Flags Park, Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington Texas opened in 1961. A little girl called Annie, who drowned in Johnson Creek during the 1900s wanders around the historic yellow house in the park called The Candy House. She turns lights off and on and can be mischievous by unlocking the front door after employees have locked it. The upstairs bedroom curtains open and close by themselves. Annie also walks around the parking lot. When visitors offer to help her find her parents, she leads them into the woods and disappears.

At The Palace, the apparition of an elderly man wearing overalls enjoys appearing on stage. He has been identified as Angus, a construction worker who fell to his death during the building of The Palace.

West Virginia

Lake Shawnee Amusement Park in Rock West Virginia was abandoned in 1966. It is believed that the ground the park was on was once an Indigenous American Burial Ground, with over 3,000 bodies. Mitchell Clay and his family settled on the land in 1781. A land war occurred with the local indigenous people and when Clay went hunting, members of the local tribe killed his children. Returning home, he found his daughter and one son dead. His oldest son had been kidnapped and buried alive at the stake. Clay and other settlers went on an avenging rampage, killing members of the tribe. Since then the land is thought to be cursed.
