Irma Hotel

Ghostly Hauntings

Situated in Cody, the Irma Hotel was built by the famous Buffalo Bill in 1902. He named it after his daughter, Irma. The hotel became a gathering place for travelers, soldiers, and locals.

Among the ghostly spirits here is that of a former housekeeper who continues to tidy rooms. Guests return to find drawers closed and beds made. In the halls a young girl can be heard giggling with no children about.

The saloon is haunted by a cowboy who died in a gunfight and can now be seen leaning on the bar.

In Room 16 the lights turn on and off by themselves and a pale woman can be seen at the foot of the bed. Regional groups have caught unexplained whispers and EMF spikes near Room 16.

The Ghostly Spirit of Emily

themselves,

Situated in Buffalo, the Occidental Hotel opened its doors in 1880. It played host to such Wild West outlaws as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

In one of the upper rooms, a young woman named Emily passed away inexplicably. Her ghostly spirit is confined to Room 13. Legend has it that she was a saloon girl who killed herself after a married man abandoned her, while some people think she was murdered.

Guests have scented lavender, seen a shadowy figure at the foot of the bed, and seen her reflection in the mirrors. Also in Room 13 investigators have recorded EVPs and heard a whispered "leave," and believe me, I would quickly.

Have a drink with a cowboy ghost who appears leaning on the bar but vanishes when approached.

There are ghost tours on autumn weekends.

The Ghost of the Suicidal Bride

One of the most famous log lodges in the US is the Old Faithful Inn, located in Yellowstone National Park. It was constructed in 1904 next to the well-known geyser.

The story of a bride who passed away soon after getting married is one of the most well-known ghost stories. Heartbroken, she killed herself in her room after her groom disappeared on a hiking expedition and was never recovered.

Employees have witnessed her floating in a white dress across the top balcony. With flickering lights and reverberating footfalls, the higher floors closest to the Crow’s Nest are the busiest. On the top floors, independent ghost hunters have detected colds spots and EMF spikes.

So book a room and meet the bride.

Meet the Ghost of Miss Kate Arnold

cold

Opened in 1899, the Sheridan Inn was a stop for railroad travelers and Wild West performers. It was managed by famous Buffalo Bill Cody and hosted his Wild West Show.

Miss Kate Arnold, who worked and resided at the hotel until passing away in 1968, is the most well-known ghostly presence here. According to the staff she continues to take care of the hotel, cleaning rooms and keeping her eye on guests. Her old Room 306 is now the most haunted place and an homage suite. There was no one there when a guest heard a gentle knock and a woman’s voice said, "Housekeeping."

Paranormal groups have captured EVPs during overnight investigations and heard a voice saying “Welcome”. Would you like to meet Miss Kate?

The Haunting of Room 12

"Welcome."

Situated in Medicine Bow, the historic Virginian Hotel opened its doors in 1911 to welcome railroad travelers. There are stories about saloon fights taking a deadly turn and guests who checked in but not out. A woman died mysteriously in a room, and a man was found dead on the staircase.

The best-known ghostly tale is that of a young woman who died tragically in her room. Some say she was a maid pushed down the stairs after a fight with a guest. Guests have seen her reflection in mirrors and have felt someone sitting on the bed. Most of these happenings occur in Room 12, and after a single night, guests ask for a room change.

Amateur ghost hunters have recorded whispers and knocks, and one caught a shadow moving across the wall in Room 12.

The Ghost of Outlaw Jack

Fear."

Situated in Rawlings, the Wyoming Frontier Prison has seen dozens of executions by both hanging and gas chamber. There have been riots, suicides and brutal attacks. Now the building is haunted by ghostly spirits.

Staff and visitors have heard footsteps in empty halls, heard doors slamming, and felt sudden cold spots. Near the old death house you can encounter the ghost of Andrew Pixley, who was executed for murdering two young girls.

Then there is Outlaw Jack, a ghostly spirit who laughs during tours and opens cell doors. He just wants to get in on the fun.

Beware the gas chamber where strange odors emit and you can hear gas hissing. The prison has been featured on “Ghost Adventures” and “Destination Fear”. You can get guided historical and paranormal tours.
