A Man with a Bandaged Face

Situated in Cannon Beach, there is something strange about Highway 101. The highway stretches along the coastline.

Since the early sixties, people have been seeing a man with a bandaged face at the side of the road. Some have even seen him sitting in their back seat through the rearview mirror, and when they turn around to look, he has disappeared.

Strange Paranormal Activity

The Hot Lake Springs in La Grande was originally a place of healing for Native Americans until settlers arrived and built a hotel in the 1840s. During the 1920s, it was a medical facility, then an insane asylum, and a retirement home. Today this is a hotel experiencing paranormal activity.

Both guests and staff have heard a piano playing even though there is no piano in the hotel. The ghostly apparition of a gardener appears. He hung himself on the property. On the lake, a strange mist appears, and there is an unusual number of car crashes outside of the property.

Cemetery Haunted by a Witch

The Lafayette Pioneer Cemetery is haunted by an angry witch. In the 1800s, a woman was accused of witchcraft and hanged for her crimes. Before her death, she cursed the town of Lafayette, saying it would burn to the ground three times. So far, the town has burned down twice.

Her ghostly apparition has been seen in the cemetery where she hides in the shadows and screams at visitors. At times she even chases them from the cemetery, leaving razor-like cuts across their back as if from sharp fingernails.

Today, for the sake of safety, the cemetery is closed to the public and has a no trespassing sign.

The Ghostly Spirit of Elizabeth

Situated in Cave Junction, the Oregon Caves Chateau was built in 1932. It is a haunted place where guests start feeling uneasy as soon as they see the building, and this feeling continues to escalate as they climb the narrow staircase to the upper floors.

After discovering her husband on their wedding night in a compromising position with a chambermaid, Elizabeth leapt to her death from the window of Room 301. Her ghostly apparition lingers in the sixth-floor hallway during the day and roams through the hotel at night.

Paranormal Activity and a Malevolent Spirit

The Shanghai Tunnels of Portland are world famous. They stretch beneath this infamously haunted city with a dark and dangerous past. All over town in the old days, men and women were tricked or drugged in bars and brothels and dragged into the tunnels, where they were bundled onto boats to serve as slaves.

Many of them were physically and/or sexually abused, and several didn’t make it out of the tunnels alive. The hidden rooms within were used as opium dens with people overdosing.

Today, people who have entered the Shanghai Tunnels have heard strange noises and disembodied voices, seen shadows, and a malevolent spirit who loved to torment tour guides.

Ghostly Figures at Midnight

Situated in Portland, the Witch’s Castle is a most haunted place. In 1850, it was purchased by the Balch Family as their sanctuary.

When their daughter fell in love with the hired help, Danford Balch killed the man. Afterward, he said his wife had bewitched him with a spell to commit this crime. He was hanged anyway. His was the first legal hanging in Oregon.

His daughter Anna returned to the family home and lived out her life there. Her ghost haunts the building along with her father’s spirit, and that of her lost love. People have reported seeing ghostly figures fighting around midnight.
