Located in Hollis, the Pine Hill Cemetery is also known as Blood Cemetery. There are more than 300 gravestones dating back to the 1700s. It is also haunted, and both ghostly apparitions and floating orbs of light have been seen.
The reason for the cemetery's gruesome nickname is a devout Christian man named Abel Blood who was laid to rest beside his wife Betsy Blood in 1867. The Blood family was murdered, but this face was never proven. Whatever the reason, Abel Blood has become a malevolent entity that haunts the cemetery. He scares visitors.
A legend is linked to Abel Blood's headstone. It bears a carving of a hand with the index finger pointing up towards heaven. If anyone dares to visit the cemetery at night supposedly his grave marker changes color and the finger points downward.
