Friday the 13th: Party at Camp Blood

Friday night, October 13th. A few dozen juniors and seniors from Cunningham County high school are partying at Camp Crystal Lake to celebrate the local legacy of Friday the 13th and the history of the legend of Camp Blood. Among those in attendance are Dana Steel and her boyfriend Corey Kimmel and their friend Amy Savage and her boyfriend Tommy Booker. The quartet are riding in Amy’s jeep on their way to the secluded area of Crystal Lake for a night of chaos, perhaps more than which they bargained.

“So who’s gonna be there?” Corey asked. “Some of the varsity players, of course the cheer girls and even a good number of the nerds from the drama club since alot of them know the history of Camp Blood” Dana responded. “Do you guys actually believe in all that Camp Blood crap?” Amy asked. “Some of it, I guess” Corey began. “I mean, I believe the whole story about Jason Voorhees drowning at Crystal Lake and even some of the parts about his mom goin crazy, but that’s where it stops me.” “Seriously guys, if Jason was real don’t you think they would’ve found him by now?” Tommy asked. “I guess you have a point, but how can you be so sure?” Amy asked. “I guess we’ll have to see if everyone survives the Camp Blood party tonight to know for a fact” Corey replied. Everyone chuckled in agreement as they finally arrived at Camp Crystal Lake.

As the group arrives the teenage debauchery has already began. The party is well underway with dozens of teens drinking, dancing and socializing with one another. As Amy, Dana, Corey and Tommy get out of their jeep they are all greeted by their friends who give them drinks to help get the party started. One of the first people they see is Shelly Robertson from the drama club. “Welcome Camp Blood’s newest victims” Shelly says sarcastically. “We’re glad we could join you nerd” Tommy replied sarcastically. With drinks in their hands the group of four joins the rest of the party in motion. After drinking and socializing for 30 minutes a small group of attendees gather around Shelly as he talks about the legend of Camp Blood.

“So how many people here believe in the legend of Jason Voorhees?” Shelly asks. No one raises their hand as they all laugh in amusement. “Well I wouldn’t act so sure if I were you guys. You never know when Jason’s gonna come through and—”. Before Shelly could finish his arm was cut by a machete that grazed his arm. As everyone surrounding him was startled by the hit they all look behind him and saw a very real Jason Voorhees standing behind them in a hockey mask and green jumpsuit. Everyone then started screaming and running away as Jason started knocking over and throwing around everyone who was within his arms reach.

One of the football players tried to throw a punch at Jason, but quickly had his shoulder cut violently by Jason as hell fell to the ground in pain. Another football player tried to tackle Jason but was picked up and thrown into a parked car by Jason. As Jason continued to walk through the crowd assaulting who ever he touched he came across a frightened Amy and grabbed her by the shirt. Before he could cause her any injury he was hit in the head with a beer keg and knocked over by a determined Tommy. As Tommy picked up the beer key to strike again Jason recovered and stabbed him in his right leg. As Tommy fell to the ground screaming in pain Jason rose up to strike killing blow but was tackled to the ground by Corey and a group of fit football players and film students.

While Jason was laid out on the ground the group proceeded to kick him and punch him with as much force as they could. They even started using weapons such as torches, baseball bats and other camping equipment to injure him with, but Jason soon recovered and knocked all of them over with force. While Jason was busy abusing other party goers. Amy and Corey ran over to a wounded Tommy and helped him on his feet. As Jason was clearing a path towards them knocking everyone over in his way, a bright light suddenly was closing in on Jason from behind. It was Dana in her jeep coming full speed ahead and knocking him over with the full force of the front of her bumper.

As Jason was temporarily incapacitated everyone started scurrying away. Dana got out of the jeep and assisted Amy and Corey in helping Tommy into the van. Once the quartet was back in the van Jason started to come to and rise up. Dana then put her jeep in reverse and backed away as fast as she could. As everyone continued to run away in fear, Dana, Corey, Amy and Tommy all sped away in terror. “What was that?” Tommy asked with Corey and Amy putting pressure on his wound while he groaned in pain. “Jason” Dana replied. “His name was Jason…”
