Four Dead Cow’s

It was the last full day of school. I was in the 4th grade. The year was 1994.

The day started off like any other day. There was me jasmine amber and patty we all walked to school together every morning. We where best friend‘s. After getting to school we found out that we would be spending the day on a field trip. So the whole school loaded up onto about ten buses and went on to this park.

Me and my girls where playing double Dutch when angel and his three friends walked up and said hey Tea you and your girls want to see four dead cows. One of the boys was like angel they scared. I said I’m not scared neither is my girls. Let’s do this. Knowing that we couldn’t go alone i went and found my Teacher and her boyfriend and asked her to go with us, she agreed she was on cloud nine her boyfriend had just asked her to marry him. So i think she would have agreed to anything at that point.

we all start walking on this trail and we where walking for quite sometime. When i told my girls these boys are lying. Their is no four dead cows out here. I looked back and my teacher and her boyfriend was no longer in site. So we kept on going, i asked angel where are these cows he said they are right up here. They stopped and said just keep walking you will see them. we walk on for about two more minutes. Out of no where i look around and we are in a cemetery. There was a blue house a few feet away from us. On the porch was a rocking chair that was rocking but no one was sitting in it. I turned to my friends and said this is very creepy. We all stood there the boys had went back. Then we all looked at the house but this time there was a man sitting in the rocking chair. He was wearing all black his face was black. He then told us “get off my land” we all screamed and ran.

As we was running we ran into my teacher and her boyfriend and told them what we just had seen. My teacher boyfriend ran up the trail to see if he seen the man. But he was gone. So we all went back to the park. We started playing a game the school had set up for us. It was called find the peanuts. The more peanuts you found the bigger your prize. Everyone at the park was eating lunch. Me and patty didn’t want to eat so we kept looking for peanuts. It was just me and her out in the field she had on a pink jacket and i seen something on the back of it that wasn’t there before so i stopped her and said there is something on the back of your jacket in red. She didn’t believe me so i told her to take it off, she did and we looked at it both of our mouths dropped open. On the back of her jacket was the word DIE. She said Tea this isn’t funny my mom just bought this for me and she is going to be mad, i told her that I didn’t do it i was looking for peanuts when i seen it. We took it to my Teacher she couldn’t explain it. Then said you girls go play. So we did as we where playing we all seen this man in black again. Jasmine went down the slide and some how she fell and broke her leg. After the permedics came and took her away we started playing hide and seek. Amber went to hide under this big pine tree and some how cut her face all up on the pine needles. By this time we all see the same man but this time he is in all white. I was playing on one of those animals that rock back and forth when out of no where i was thrown off and busted the back of my head i was bleeding my Teacher went and got a first aid kit off one of the buses. I then told patty something has happened to everyone that seen that man, to be careful. The time had came for us to go back to school. I got on the bus and was looking for patty she wasn’t on the bus. So i went to the back of the bus and looked out the window and there she was just standing behind the bus so i knocked on the glass but it was like she couldn’t hear me. I could hear the bus start up and she was still just standing there. I ran to the front of the bus but it was so loud that the driver couldn’t hear me. He put the bus in drive so I though but he backed up instead. I screamed no. Told him to open the door and i ran to the back of the bus. Patty was under it and she was hurt pretty bad. She didn’t make it home from the park that day. She died on the ground at the park. A few days later it was a half day of shcool. The three of us me amber and jasmine went into the bathroom and was talking about what happened that day. When out of no where all the sinks in the bathroom turned on. We didn’t do it we was all in different stalls. We came out and on the four mirrors was all of our name. Pattys was the only one with a date on it. We all screamed and went for the door to get out but it was locked. People on the other side of the door tried to open it but it wouldn’t come open. The bathroom started to steam up. I looked at the window and said let’s try this the other girls was scared i was to but i knew that we had to get out that bathroom. so i kicked the paper towel dispenser off the wall and broke the window. We climbed out but then we was stuck on the roof. A teacher seen us and called the fire department and they came and got us down.

We tried to tell everyone what happened but no one believed us. So we made a pack to never talk about it again. We i got older i tried to find that park. No such luck, i lost a good friend that day. And i never seen four dead cows.
