Evil Dead Wrath is Going to be a Prequel?

This is going to be taking place before the very first Evil Dead film.

Evil Dead Wrath is probably the strangest Evil Dead ever going to be released. We have gotten 6 great films in the franchise so far, and now we are going to enter the 7th film of the franchise, that will be taking place in the year 1972, a full decade before the very first Evil Dead film.

I have so many questions as to what is going to be taking place with this next entry in the franchise.

Here are the questions I have for what could be taking place in the next entry of Evil Dead:

  1. Are we going to be getting a possible time travel storyline?

Evil Dead isn't afraid to shy away from time travel within the franchise. Evil Dead 2 ended with Ash traveling through a portal to a medieval timeline, and the third film continued with Ash in Army of Darkness, taking on demons in his new world. Is Evil Dead Wrath going to have our new main characters from the recent Evil Dead films work together in this new entry?

The new trilogy featured three new female protagonists, (but to be fair, the remake to Evil Dead got everyone killed, so I don't think there were any survivors), but the other female characters from the last two entries could meet up and fight the demons to the death.

It's a crazy theory that fans have online, but it isn't actually too farfetched. The television show to Evil Dead had Ash and his new crew go through many moments of time travel, so who knows what sort of chaos is awaiting in the next entry?

  1. Will Ellie from Evil Dead Rise come back as a villain again?

Evil Dead Burn ended with an insane post credit scene, having Ellie from Evil Dead Rise make a shocking return. Ellie was the mother of three children, who ended up possessed by the evil, and the demon got two of her kids killed. Her sister was able to save only of her sister's kids, and she was forced to put down her sister's demon form, along with her niece and nephew. Ellie was now ashes in the next film in the post credit scene of Evil Dead Burn, and she suddenly appeared again, killing a random kid in a funeral home.

Ellie claims that 'Mommy's back,' so who knows if she will somehow make an appearance in Evil Dead Wrath? Will Ellie go back in time to the 70s to cause havoc on new victims? Will she be sent back in time, tasked with a new purpose? Maybe to somehow prevent Ash from reaching the cabin in the woods, who becomes one of their main enemies?

It would be such a cool concept, and I'm curious what Ellie's purpose is actually going to be!

  1. Will Ash make a final appearance in the franchise?

I know that Bruce Campbell did confirm this year that he will not be making an appearance in the Evil Dead franchise as his beloved Ash character and I get it. This dude has been playing Ash for a long time, and it makes sense for the guy to retire from the character. It's super cool that he's involved as a producer for the franchise too!

My theory is that if the new entry is going to have time travel, maybe a young Ash will make an appearance, but his face won't be shown.

Because let's face it, there will always be only one Ash.

But it would be an interesting Easter egg for the seventh entry, telling the fans that the demons will never get over their obsession of Ash Williams, one of the few survivors who caused the most problems for these deadites.

What are your theories for the new Evil Dead film?
