Ghostly Horse

Situated in Skåne, Backaskog Castle offers overnight accommodations and guided ghost hunts.
One of the ghostly spirits here is that of a horse. The horse belonged to Karl XV and was shot after the king died in 1872. At night you can hear the horse gallop.
There is also the ghost of an old guest named Elvira. She likes to sneak around at night and is recognizable by her black veil, which she had to use for the rest of her life after having an accident with broken glass.
The most haunted room is Room 19 where doors and windows ope on their own.
The Haunting of a Rectory
Borgvattnet is a tiny village in the northeast of Jämtland and is home to the Borgvattnets Prastgard, now one of the most haunted rectories in Sweden. (pictured above)
The appearance of ghostly spirits began back in 1927 when priest Nils Hedlund got his laundry rundown from the drying wire. He was the son of the minister's wife, who died here in 1908. In 1947, priest Erik Lindgren, living in the house, had had strange encounters and at one time was thrown out of his rocking chair.
Since 1970 the old rectory has been turned into a "ghost hotel," and if you want to meet some ghostly spirits, you can stay overnight.
Spooky Happenings

Situated in Skillingmark in Varmland, Frammegarden is among the most haunted places in Sweden. IT was once the site of witch executions in the 17th century. The spookiest room here is the one called "the dead room" where dying people were put.
Enjoy an overnight stay and hear mystic screams and cries as well as footsteps and knockings. A spooky place is the attic where two children are supposed to have been starved to death and later been buried in the cellar.
Ghostly Happenings

One of the oldest inns in Sweden is situated in Mariefried. Gripsholms Värdshus was built on the base of an old monastery from the 15th century. Now the spirits of some old monks haunt the inn, but they are friendly spirits.
The most haunted rooms are Room 115 and Room 210. Guests report their duvet was moving, and they had a feeling as if someone was tucking them into bed.

Ghost Castle

Located in Stockholm, the Scheffler Palace is also referred to as the Ghost Castle since the 1830s and has a long and disturbing history. There are many ghostly encounters to be had here. At one time it got so bad that a priest was called to drive the spirits away. The ghosts did not want to leave and the priest was thrown out of the window and broke his leg. The ghostly spirits continue to call it home.
Ghostly Spirits of Count Gustaf Otto Stenbock and his son Gustav

Situated in Borås, Torpa stenhus is home to several ghosts.
One of the most famous is that of Count Gustaf Otto Stenbok. He is accompanied by his firstborn son, little Gustav.
Another ghostly spirit is that of the daughter of the owner known as "Gra frun." According to legend, she fell in love with a Danish prisoner, which her father couldn't accept. He killed the prisoner, leaving his daughter heartbroken.
You might encounter "the walled girl." The girl returned from a trip to Denmark and told her father the plague had started to spread there. Her father walled her up in her room with bricks while she was still alive.
