Ghost of Former Castle Servant

Bogenšperk Castle, located in central Slovenia near Litija, is a 16th-century castle recognized for its cultural significance and architectural evolution from medieval fortifications to Renaissance residences. It reached its peak during the late 17th century when Janez Vajkard Valvasor resided there, contributing to its legacy.
The ghostly spirit of a former castle servant appears in the library, or his apparition is seen walking the corridors at night. Visitors have felt cold spots and seen objects moving on their own.
The Ghost of Veronika
Celje Castle is the largest medieval fortress in the country, dating back to the 12th century. It served as the seat of the powerful Counts of Celje and features a mix of Gothic and Renaissance architectural styles.
Among the most famous ghost stories associated with the castle is that of Veronika of Desenzano, who was murdered here. Visitors have seen her ghostly apparition and heard her cries. There is an overwhelming feeling of unease in parts of the castle.

Among the legends associated with this castle is the ghostly apparition of a young woman who was falsely accused of witchcraft and executed. Visitors have seen her ghostly spirit roaming the castle grounds, especially on misty nights.
Ghostly Soldier

Maribor Castle is a historic Baroque mansion that dates back to the late 15th century. Originally built as a Gothic residence for the territorial prince, it now houses the Maribor Regional Museum, showcasing its rich history and architecture.
The castle is haunted by the ghostly spirit of a soldier who appears in the dungeon. Visitors have described feeling an oppressive atmosphere hearing chains rattling and seeing ghostly apparitions.
Ghostly Spirit of Erazem

Predjama Castle is renowned as the largest cave castle in the world and a symbol of Slovenian heritage. Built into a cliffside cave, it dates back to the 12th century and is famous for its unique architecture and historical significance. The castle is associated with the legendary knight Erazem of Predjama, often referred to as the Slovenian Robin Hood.
Among the most famous legends associated with the castle is that of Erazem Lueger, who was a knight known for his defense against the Habsburgs. He met his untimely death at the castle, and now his restless ghostly spirit roams the halls. Visitors have experienced the feel of cold spots and heard eerie sounds.
Ghost of a Noblewoman

Snežnik Castle, located in Lož Valley, is a well-preserved 13th-century castle known for its authentic 19th-century interiors and beautiful natural surroundings. It serves as a museum and offers guided tours, making it a popular destination for visitors. The castle was opened to the public as a museum in 1983, allowing visitors to explore its rich history.
The castle is reputedly haunted by the spirit of a former noblewoman, whose presence has been felt by many visitors. Her ghostly spirit wanders the castle, even appearing in a mirror or as a faint silhouette in the moonlight. Visitors have reported inexplicable cold spots, ghostly apparitions, and the unsettling feeling of being touched by unseen hands.
Ghosts of Former Lovers

Žovnek Castle, located northeast of Braslovče, is a medieval fortress with origins dating back to the 12th century. It was first mentioned in 1278 and is associated with the Lords of Žovnek, who later became the Counts of Celje.
Now in ruins, it is associated with a ghostly legend. A castle lord fell in love with a peasant girl. Unfortunately, their forbidden romance ended in death, and locals believe that their ghostly spirits roam among the ruins. Disembodied voices have been heard, and shadowy figures have been seen among the crumbling walls.
