Clue of the Forgotten Staircase.

Monday, September 1st, 2021. I was in class thinking about that old creepy house my dad was telling me about last night. "Rena? what is the answer to this problem?" Miss, Coil said. While i stared into space, with my mind off the lesson she was teaching. "Um.. Rena? do you know the answer?" Miss, Coil said. My best friend tapped me on my shoulder and said, "Rena, answer her, the teacher is calling on you". I got back in my head, and looked up. "Oh, sorry, i was thinking about something", Rena said. "Do you need to step out Rena?" Miss, Coil said. Rena looked around, the whole class was staring at her, the girls in the back was even laughing at her. Rena got her stuff, and ran out the class room before her teacher could say another word.

Her best friend followed her out the class room, "Rena, wait up" Chloe said. Rena looked back and saw Chloe trying to catch up to her. "What do you want? I want to be alone right now, i don't feel good Chloe" Rena said. "What is wrong with you? You been acting weird all day, I know something is wrong with you", Chloe said. "You know that old house my dad was telling me about?" Rena said. "Yeah, the house i told you not to worry about, what about it Rena?", Chloe said. "Well i was thinking about it, and i kind of went to it on the way of school, and it looked like i saw a girl on the side of the house", Rena said. "It was nothing Rena, you was thinking to hard, you probably just saw something else, it couldn't have been a little girl at that old house, i don't think people even remember that old house", Chloe said. "Well, your probably right, but i was thinking that maybe we should go to it after school", Rena said. "Um... that don't sound like a good idea, but sure i guess, now lets get back to class", Chloe said.

The bell ringed, it was time for the students to go home. Chloe and Rena had meet up by the gates at the end of the school. "We need to hurry up, we have to be home at 5, so lets go" Rena said. They ran as fast they could, all the way to the house. They finally made it there, they was breathing so hard they had to get water out of Chloe back pack. "Ok, we can just go by that old window over there, because i am not ready to go in the house, you never know what is in there", Rena said. So, they walked over by the window, very slow because, every time they stepped, leaves crunched, so loud, and they never knew who was around there.

"Do you want to look first? Or do you want to look together?" Chloe said. "I would like to look together", Rena said. So, they both leaned in and looked through the window. They looked around, they saw old paint, cut open couches, baby dolls, etc. "You guys shouldn't be in here", a little girl voice said. They both turned around as fast as they could, but nobody was there. "I know you heard that Rena", Chloe said. But Rena couldn't say another word. All she could do is grab Chloe arm and run, and that's what she did. They ran, all the way to there neighborhood. "I will call you when i get home Rena", Chloe said. Rena still couldn't say anything, she was scared and shocked. So, Rena just ran all the way to her house, her house was the last one, and she did not stop running there. Chloe saw her running so Chloe wanted to run too.

That night around 8, Rena was at the dinner table. "Honey? What is wrong with you? You been acting like your scared", her mom said, Rena got up, and ran up the stairs and went in her bed room. She locked her door, and went in the bath room and looked in the mirror. She was looking in the mirror for about 10 minutes. She closed her eyes slowly, and then she had open them and the girl was in the mirror from the old house. Rena screamed as loud as she could, and she didn't stop. Her mom ran up the stairs and tried to open Rena door, but it was locked, so she started banging on the door. "RENA, OPEN THE DOOR, WHAT IS GOING ON?????" , her mom said. Rena stopped. It was silent, every thing was silent, it was so silent u could hear the crickets out back. Rena went to her door, and she had open her door, her mom was staring at her, frightened. "Mom? whats wrong?, are you ok?", Rena said.

"You- you was just screaming, so i had come up here, what was going on?", her mom said. "Mom, what are you talking about? I was never screaming, i was in my bed the whole time", Rena said. "NO YOUR LYING, I AM NOT CRAZY , I HEARD YOU", her mother screamed. Then the door bell ringed. "Ill get it" her mother said. Her mother ran down the stairs, still shocked. She had open the door, "Hello, I heard some screaming, so i wanted to see if every thing was ok", the old lady said. "yes, every thing is fine ma'am, thank you for checking". She shut the door, and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. Rena had came down the stairs. "Mom? who was it" Rena said. "it was nobody, just the lady from next door, she heard u screaming", her mom said. "That's weird, i don't think i ever screamed" Rena said. "Um.. ok just go to your room, and don't forget to take a shower honey", her mom said. "Yes ma'am goodnight, i love you mother", Rena said. "I love you too honey".

Rena went upstairs, she went to her closet and got her clothes that she was going to put on after she get out the shower. Rena went to her bathroom and turned on the shower. She stepped in the shower and turned it all the way on hot. After she went to take her shower she went straight to sleep.

They next morning she met Chloe to the bus stop. "Hey Rena, How u feeling", Chloe said. "Hey Chloe, I am feeling great, and you?" Rena said. "Oh, i am feeling great as well", Chloe said. They talked until the bus had came. While they was walking to class, Chloe said "So what did you do when you got home?". "i got home, did my homework, then ate dinner with my mother , then took a shower, then went to sleep", Rena said. "You ate dinner with who?" Chloe said. "With my mother, why?", Rena said. "Rena, stop playing",Chloe said. "What are you talking about?", Rena said. "Rena, your mom died when you was 10, and your dad is out of town, so you had the house by yourself", Chloe said. "No, what are you talking about Chloe, i was just eating dinner with her", Rena said. Then it clicked into Rena head that her mom had died when she was 10 in a car accident. Rena looked at Chloe, and screamed. Everybody in the hallway was scared, so they ran.
