"Morning sluts!" Scream Queens is returning, and Emma Roberts is back and bitchier than ever in the brand new promo for the second season of Fox's horror bloodbath. Returning on 20 September, we already know that the show is bringing back some familiar faces and the all important Chanel trifecta - headed up by Roberts's Chanel Oberlin.

Flanked by Chanel No. 3 (Billie Lourd) and Chanel No. 5 (Abigail Breslin), it looks like being institutionalised has done nothing to stop the Chanels' reign of terror. After a brief stint in an asylum, the girls are once again joined by Jamie Lee Curtis, who has been promoted from college dean to head of a medical institution. Other returnees are Niecy Nash, Keke Palmer and Lea Michele, who will be joined by newcomers Taylor Lautner, John Stamos, and Colton Haynes.

Sassy and stabby, the second season of the show promises a new direction, and will ditch the Greek alphabet in favour of a different genre. Jamie Lee Curtis told Collider:

The entire show is different. We’ve taken an abrupt right-hand turn. You’re driving down the road and think you know where you’re going, and now you’re heading down a road in a new city with a new life. It’s three years later. Dean Munch runs a hospital... She hires doctors, including Taylor Lautner and John Stamos. The Chanels all come back as medical students. Zayday becomes a doctor. And Hester is just crazy.

However, it isn't all girl power, as this year there are certainly more 'scream kings'. Lautner, Stamos and Haynes will be joining Glen Powell's Chad Radwell, who is back for more blood. Sadly Nick Jonas won't be returning as the season's man-candy, so I guess we will just have to do ogling Lautner - is he this season's McDreamy?

“Putting the ‘Mad Diva’ in M.D.”, it looks like the girls are swapping sororities for scrubs in Ryan Murphy's murder mystery. When we last left the Chanels they had survived the rampage of the murderous Red Devil Killer, only to have a new menace loom over them in the finale's closing moments. How the girls get from hospital patients to working the halls remains to be seen, but here's betting that there is more blood and guts than your average episode of Grey's Anatomy coming our way.
