BROKEN MIRROR

Horror story

By Laiba AshfaqPublished 4 years ago • 4 min read

It was just an ordinary day for Sarah. She had woken up early, prepared breakfast, and was getting ready for her work. Sarah was a beautiful lady in her mid-twenties, and when she looked at herself in the mirror, she always appreciated her beauty. So, she got dressed up and went to her bathroom to prepare her hair for the job she was about to start. As she was using the hairbrush, she suddenly heard the crackling sound of something shattering, and she dropped the hairbrush and ran outside the bathroom.

Sarah saw it was the large mirror hanging on the wall opposite the bathroom that had shattered, and the pieces were all over the floor. She was surprised and bewildered. Sarah could not understand what could have caused such an accident. She was staring at the broken pieces scattered all over, and suddenly, she felt a shiver down her spine. She thought it was just an ordinary mirror that had shattered, but why was she feeling so eerie?

Sarah went about her day, trying to forget the incident, but she felt that something had changed. She had always felt comfortable in her house, but somehow, she felt spooked even though there was nothing to be afraid of. It felt like something was watching her all the time, and she couldn't shake the feeling off.

A few days went by, and Sarah started experiencing weird events in her house. The paintings that she had on her walls, they seemed to move around, and the furniture that she used to place at certain spots, now, they were all over the place. Sarah had a terrible feeling that something was trying to communicate with her. She felt a growing sense of unease and knew she had to do something about it.

One day, she decided to invite some of her friends to her house. Sarah thought that maybe they could spend some time and talk, and she would be able to forget what she was feeling. Though she had a good time with her friends, one of them noticed that something odd was going on in the house. Her friend Heather brought to her attention that the mirrors in the house were all a bit strange. Sarah didn't believe it at first, but when she went to check them, she also noticed that they weren't okay. Sarah's once normal reflection was now distorted, as if her reflection was trying to tell her something. It was then that Sarah realized that the broken mirror incident was not just an ordinary accident. Something was off, and it had been off for a while now.

Days turned into weeks, and the strange occurrences in the house only continued. Sarah's anxiety worsened with each day that passed. Even though she had a busy job, Sarah never went out with friends, nor did she invite anyone else to her house, except her father. Her dad had always been her rock, and Sarah would tell him everything. So, when she told her dad about the strange happenings in her house, he immediately knew something was wrong. Her father was convinced that there was nothing wrong with the house and that it was just her imagination playing tricks on her.

But Sarah knew that something was not right. She started doing some research and found out about the background of the house she lived in. It turned out that the house used to belong to a family who had been involved in a mysterious crime, and they had all been murdered. Sarah's stomach knotted, and she felt chills down her spine. Was the ghost of the deceased family haunting her?

One night, Sarah was lying in her bed trying to fall asleep when she heard a sound coming from outside her room. She sat up and looked around; everything was dark, but she could see a faint outline of something in the mirror that hung on the wall in front of her bed. As she tried to focus on the outline, she realized that it was a ghostly and distorted figure of a person. The mirror reflected an image of someone she could not make out.

Sarah's heartbeat raced, and she knew it was the ghosts of the murdered family. And then, it struck her - the broken mirror in the bathroom. Sarah realized that the mirror had been a portal for the evil spirits, and now they had taken over her house.

The ghosts started to manifest more and more, and Sarah was no longer able to ignore them. They would follow her everywhere, even visiting her at her workplace. Sarah knew she had to find a way to get rid of the spirits that haunted her, but she had no idea how. The manifestations continued to get worse, and Sarah's fear consumed her. Every time she looked at a broken mirror, she saw the reflection of the evil spirits.

In the end, Sarah could no longer take the fear that she was feeling. She decided to sell her house and move away from the evil spirits. Sarah never told anyone what had happened in that house, but she was glad to be rid of it. As she walked out of the house, Sarah shuddered at the thought of what would happen if anyone else moved in.
