Are Maggie and Negan Going to Get Together Romantically?
Why this potential relationship is a really bad idea...

A lot of Walking Dead spinoffs have been quite questionable lately, and with the new direction that Dead City is heading into, I'm starting to think this show was one of those bad ideas. Dead City follows the story of Negan and Maggie, who are now stuck trying to survive together. I haven't seen the show yet, nor do I understand the full context as to why Maggie is stuck with Negan, but like many other Walking Dead fans, these two should never get together.
The reason why this relationship is a major red flag, despite Negan's great character development into a good person, is because of what he did in the past. I feel that he could be forgiven (kind of), but let's not forget who he had murdered. He had butchered Maggie's husband, right in front of her in the beginning of season 7. It was downright evil, cruel, and it was even worse knowing that Maggie was pregnant with Glenn's child.
And let's not forget that Negan was considering taking Maggie as one of his brides. He had been collecting multiple brides...torturing women behind the scenes...so why is Maggie considering a relationship with this man?
It genuinely makes no sense on the writer's part.
I'm surprised that Maggie hasn't killed him yet, but I think it has to do with the fact that Rick had made a promise to spare his life. Even after Rick's fake out death, I think she is willing to keep Negan alive, to keep her promise to her old friend. When it comes to this aspect, I completely understand Maggie's reasoning, but the thought of her hooking up with the man that harmed women, that wanted to take Maggie as one of his own wives, and then murdered her husband in front of her and her other friends...do you see why this is such a bad idea for Dead City to consider?
I do not understand what happened to so many of these Walking Dead spinoff shows. Personally, I feel that only one of them was great to focus on, (Daryl and Carol's own spin off was the only one I felt was a great choice, since both characters are not from the comics, and they have such an interesting bond that could literally go in any direction), but the other ones felt so forced.
Dead City was 100% a show that did not need to happen.
I felt that the ending to the Walking Dead between Maggie and Negan was the perfect ending. Maggie told Negan she could never forgive him for what he did to Glenn. I completely was on her side here, because let's not forget how ruthless and cruel his death was. He made Glenn suffer, in front of the woman that was carrying his child, and he didn't kill him straight away like he did with Abraham. Knowing that he was literally in pieces after he finished off Glenn was beyond evil, and Negan laughed during the whole thing.
And the writers thought it would be a good idea to have Maggie get with this guy???
I wonder if the writers even watched the Walking Dead. If they have...I kind of feel that Dead City is falling into fan fiction city.
We don't need a romance between these two characters.
Keeping Maggie and Negan as possible friends would probably work, because in a way, Maggie would forgive her husband's killer over time, and I'm sure that Glenn would want her to move on, because of how kindhearted he was.
How do you fans feel about this new development with Maggie and Negan? Are you baffled by this potential romance? Or do you think it actually could work?
