Dr. Hiles and Pastor Tim agree that “ghosts” – human beings who have died but have “souls” “with” us on Earth – are an alien concept from a biblical point of view. But Dr. Hiles also spoke of the Old Testament Witch of Endor, which involved the resurrection of Samuel's soul.

However, there is not much evidence for the presence of "ghosts" other than angels or evil spirits.

Pastor Tim noted that our society is fascinated by zombies and vampires in today's culture, but biblical references to spirit creatures almost exclusively refer to angels. or the devil. He also notes that the bible suggests that we are entertaining angels "without realizing" or interacting with spirits through God. "I don't know if the Bible is very supportive of the idea of ghosts," Griffin said. "I think at least the bible says quite clearly that most of the types of spirits we come into contact with are not like us and are of an angelic nature."

People believe in this idea because no one knows what will happen after death and want to believe that there is some kind of life and maybe humans will be able to visit their loved ones after they die. According to the website mentioned earlier, Ghosts and Gravestones,

“We are looking for an explanation of what is happening around us. That's just how the human brain works; We need to know why something happened or what the cause of it is. And when it comes to mysterious and inexplicable events, the only reasonable explanation is often the presence of something supernatural. »

Information regarding ghosts can be found on the internet and on television. There are websites that support this belief, but most claim that the idea is false.

Ghosts are considered extraordinary because their ideas cannot be corroborated by science. There are no known reproducible experiments that can confirm the presence of ghosts; those who return after death as spirits that defy all scientific laws of nature. Besides hope, belief in the devil continues through history passed on from person to person. Those who support the existence of ghosts are mostly believers because they cannot attribute their experiences to normal circumstances. Beliefs are only built on personal experience using religious beliefs (life after death, reincarnation, etc.) to explain what happens in the afterlife. According to HowStuffWorks, "Evidence of ghosts is all around us, but only sentient beings can sense their presence." In addition, the website says the technology is not yet advanced enough to produce physical evidence. According to some quantum physicists, "we still do not fully understand the interaction between the human mind and external matter at the quantum level". Alternatively, the ghost may not be a dead person but simply a human from another time.

On the other hand, those against the premise of ghosts are more backed by science than those in favor. Benjamin Radford, Live Science Contributor, claims that the stories of ghosts switch between being able to walk through walls but still be able to move them, and that these contradicting ideas go against the laws of physics. Furthermore, he claims that if these spirits were truly lost and had unfinished business, then mediums would be able to help them in a multitude of ways (solve their murders, identify killers). Those who claim to have evidence like ghost hunters use pseudoscience to demonstrate their claims: electromagnetic field meters, cameras, thermometers, and other equipment are used to detect any changes in energy. The change in energy is automatically assumed to be the presence of a supernatural being. Jumping to the conclusion that any change in the atmosphere is due to paranormal causes is logically incorrect; people misinterpret the results due to confirmation bias, only looking for evidence that strengthens their beliefs in ghosts.

In the end, no one knows if ghosts are real or just man-made stories.
