Alas Cangar

On vacation in 2020, Elsa and May, two friends who work in a factory in Mojokerto, decide to take a vacation and visit their boss, Pak Joko, who lives in Batu Malang. Previously, they had worked at Pak Joko's restaurant in Mojokerto. In order to build friendship, Elsa and May decided to visit Pak Joko's place.

The story begins when Elsa and May leave the house at 11.00 am by motorbike. They passed Alas Cangar towards Batu with a relaxed feeling, even though Alas Cangar was famous for its mysterious stories. At night, the atmosphere at Alas Cangar is said to be different from the atmosphere during the day. However, because it was still noon, Elsa and May weren't too worried.

After a long journey, they arrived at Pak Joko's house around 13.00 in the afternoon. They chatted with Pak Joko, his wife and children, and enjoyed lunch together before carrying out the midday and afternoon prayers. They were enjoying their relaxing time at Pak Joko's house and didn't realize that time was running out. Suddenly, they were surprised to hear the Maghrib call to prayer. Running out of time, Elsa and May decided to go home immediately even though Pak Joko advised them to stay the night.

Their return trip was quite stressful because they had to pass through Alas Cangar again. Although at first they felt safe, the atmosphere started to change when they entered the Alas Cangar area. Eve grew cold, and Elsa tried to say a prayer to feel safer. They passed the famous Twin Bridges with scary stories. The fog fell, and the raindrops made the atmosphere even more spooky. They continued their journey with caution.

Suddenly, they saw a car following them from behind. Elsa tried to give way by moving her motorcycle to the side of the road. However, the car continued to chase them without stopping. When Elsa and May checked back, the car suddenly disappeared. There was no sign of cars or other vehicles around them.

They continued their journey and along a winding path in the middle of the forest. Every few minutes, they only bumped into a few other vehicles along the way. They feel like they are lost and time seems to go by very slowly. As they were passing through dense trees, they heard the startling sound of gamelan music.

Elsa and May looked at each other with faces full of confusion. The sound of the gamelan that is heard in the middle of a quiet and dark forest creates an increasingly tense atmosphere. They wondered where the sound was coming from, as there was no sign of human activity around them.

The drive of curiosity and the desire to know the origin of the sound made Elsa and May decide to follow the sound. They proceeded cautiously, walking along a path that cut through the trees. Every step they took became more difficult due to the darkness surrounding them.

After walking for a while, they arrived at a clearing in the forest. In the middle of the field, they saw a gamelan performance in progress. There was a group of people playing Javanese traditional instruments with gusto. They wore Javanese traditional clothes and looked very solemn in their every move.

Elsa and May were blown away by the beauty of the show. The mesmerizing sound of the gamelan and the harmonious movements kept them rooted to the spot. They feel like they are hypnotized by the atmosphere that the show creates.

However, their fun did not last long. When Elsa and May tried to approach the show to get a closer look, suddenly everyone in the field stopped moving. Like living statues, they froze without any facial expressions that seemed transfixed.

This sudden change of situation made Elsa and May feel uncomfortable. They tried calling out to the people on the ground, but none of them responded. Everything looks like life has stopped.

In confusion and anxiety, Elsa and May decided to leave the place immediately. They returned to the trail and continued their journey home. However, the atmosphere around them grew gloomy and the pressure they felt grew stronger.

They continued to tread carefully, trying to find a way out of this mysterious forest. After a while of walking, they came across a signpost that looked like it had been abandoned a long time ago. The sign indicated the exit from Alas Cangar.

With a feeling of relief, Elsa and May followed the instructions and finally left Alas Cangar. They felt like breaking away from the gripping enchantment. Even though there are still many unanswered questions, they are grateful to have survived the thrilling adventure.
