What the hell are you gonna watch while 'The Walking Dead' is off the air?

Tv Horror needs respect

So you're still in denial about the season 6 finale! Yes we all are but the question is what the hell are you gonna watch while The Walking Dead is off the air?

Well there are a few alternative shows that will get you through until October and here they are....

1. Fear The Walking Dead (duh)

Death is on the horizon

This one's a no brain-er i know (no pun intended), this addition to TWD universe is a prequel series set in the days of the first outbreak. It follows a family unit trying to stick together and stay alive somehow, season 2 has just kicked into gear and is a must see for completists.

Personally it'd say it's not a patch on TWD but perhaps it'll find it's sea legs this season, either way i can't help but tune in for it.

2. Z Nation

Zombies and smart arses ahoy

Made for the SyFy channel, which should send shivers down your spine straight away, this series follows the zombie outbreak a little differently. A band of survivors must get an ex-con to a Californian lab as he possibly holds the cure to the zombie virus in his own blood cells.

Sounds pretty interesting right there, the show however is a mixed bag of cheesy special fx and running zombies. It's trash quite honestly but i'm not putting it down, i'm simply telling you this is not TWD or anything close.

If you get through the first couple of episodes you'll most likely be hooked.

3. Supernatural

Sam and Dean will help you out

I absolutely love this series! 2 brothers who hunt down ghosts, monsters and even zombies (on occasion) in their trusty 67' Impala. The series has been running over a decade and is STILL going strong.

The show is like a mini horror movie on a weely basis with a great relationship between the two leads. What more can i say? go check it out

OH and did i mention their dad was played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan? a.k.a Negan!

The family business on show again

4. American Horror Story

for all time periods of horror

How best to sum this series up? each season is a complete different story but with returning actors playing regular roles. I've watched scattered series of this and i've been impressed with some of it.

The latest season AHS:Hotel had Lady GaGa as a seemingly undead vampire among other stories and for that alone you could do worse then see what it's all about.

Plus you can start ANY season since there not connected (well if you ignore the theories anyway)

5. The X Files

Dealing with strange on a daily basis

I'm so glad this show has returned! if you don't know what the basic plot is then your probably a noughties child. Agent's Mulder and Scully of the FBI follow up cases that are unusual, strange and usually involve government plots and/or aliens.

The show first hit TV's back in the early 90's and this current revival is set to bring them back for this generation. A fine series that has plenty going for it....

6. Penny Dreadful

These few stand in the path of true Evil

Another interesting series, Supernatural threats with a gritty back drop of Victorian London. With amazing production values and some genuine atmosphere this should be on every Horror fans radar.

Plus with the cache of BIG names this is a series i've not seen enough of and i personally will be getting caught up very soon.
