Will Marvel Fan Theories for "Spider-Man 3: No Way Home" Lead to Disappointment?

Wed, Nov 17– It feels like everything has been leading up to the Multiverse, and Marvel's Spider-Man 3: No Way Home is the next stepping point into the year's biggest fan theories to date. The main theories are that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be reprising their roles as Spiderman alongside Tom Holland.

If one were to hear these theories right after the first letdown of the year with WandaVision when fan theories were certain of a Mephisto appearance, we wouldn't have believed them either. Podcasts, Forums, TikTok, Youtube, Vocal.Media and other platforms shared their Fan Theories with each Disney+ Marvel episode alongside every Marvel movie out and coming soon.

The fan theory with Mephisto left fans disappointed and allowed themselves to get hyped instead of enjoying the show for what it was. This followed into The Falcon and Winter Soldier as well. As the year went on, fan theories began to rise and the hope for Kang the Conqueror to show up in Loki was loud and clear from the beginning. The season finale left fans correct with their predictions of the introduction of Kang, a different variant, but enough to satisfy fans.

Black Widow, Shang-Shi, and the Eternals had some general theories but not to the scale of Spider-man 3.

The first trailer we got did not arrive until August 23, 2021.

After this trailer, the theories of Tobey and Andrew's spiderman arrived alongside the appearance of Doc Ock and the Green Goblin's grenades. Not only them, but Mephisto was back in the picture. The unrecognizable actions of Doctor Strange have led fans to believe that this isn't the Doctor Strange we know. Fans believe that this is indeed Mephisto instead.

Other hints of Tobey and Andrew's appearance are found on Twitter with photos of Tobey at the same location with Tom Holland and Zendaya:

LATEST OFFICIAL TRAILER

The latest trailer has now left fans full of many different emotions. The already confirmation of Green Goblin, and Doc Ock has also revealed Sandman, Lizard, and Electro. This is huge news for Marvel fans!

But the lingering question is, where are Tobey and Andrew? Fans dissected the trailer to point out the way Sony / Brazil edited other characters out of the fight scene shown in the trailer. Someone is clearly kicking Lizard that is not in the scene, but who?

Fans have never been so passionate about a theory than ever before this year, especially when it comes to bringing back Tobey and Andrew's Spiderman that we have grown up with. Now the million-dollar question is, are fans correct? Are we building the hype up so high that it will lead to the biggest disappointment of the year?

The news of Doctor Strange's reshoots is also placing some concerns because there may be the possibility that fan theories are causing Marvel / Sony to do some rewrites. These are the questions that fans are beginning to ask themselves as we gear up into the final Marvel film of the year.

It is important to also learn to not be too disappointed if fan theories are wrong. There is a chance that this may be the reality of what is approaching. Fans might find themselves in the theater wanting so badly to see Tobey and Andrew that they may miss Tom Holland as Spiderman and leave very disappointed.

There is also a chance that fans are correct and in that case, would be a day to celebrate. Personally, I love a great fan theory. In fact, I join in on the theories as well and love listening to my favorite podcasts.
