On October 29, it was announced that Netflix's fantasy series The Witcher had been renewed for a fourth season, albeit with the shocking news that Henry Cavill would not be returning as the first blonde, Geralt of Rivia. Gaye sent fans into a frenzy.

In a statement posted to Instagram, Cavill announced his departure and announced the news of his replacement. He wrote: "My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with monsters and adventures and sadly I will be saving my medallion and swords for Season 4.

Who is Liam Hemsworth?

Liam Hemsworth is the younger brother of Chris Hemsworth, who is best known for playing Thor in the Marvel Universe, and has starred in blockbusters like The Hunger Games and Independence Day: Resurgence. Most recently, Hemsworth starred in the "Most Dangerous Game" series with Christoph Waltz and will star in Russell Crowe's thriller "Pokerface."

Why did Henry Cavill leave The Witcher?

While no definitive reason has been announced for Henry Cavill's departure from The Witcher, the actor is in high demand and is likely leaving due to other filming commitments. The news of him hanging up the Witcher boots comes after the internet broke the news that he would be reprising his iconic role as Superman in the DC Universe, a role that led to his departure from the Netflix show.
