Why have the writers on The Young and the Restless turned Adam Newman into Schleprock?

Why has The Young and the Restless continued to make Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) live his life like Schleprock the character from The Flintstones spinoff The Pebbles and Bam Bam Show? The name Schleprock means bad luck and the cartoon character had a cloud over his head everywhere he went and life did not work out for him. Adam also continually has bad luck and his latest tribulation has many Y&R fans angry. What was the purpose of Sally being pregnant and giving Adam hope for a daughter just to take it all away?

The writers placed him in an impossible situation of choosing to save Sally Spectra's (Courtney Hope) life over the unborn baby and now she is angry with him. Sally will also more than likely go through depression after losing her baby and neither Nick Newman (Josh Morrow) nor Adam will be able to comfort her. Adam has been unlucky in business and in love, feels his father does not appreciate him and there is always contention with his siblings Nick, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), and Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway).

The loss of his daughter and Sally blaming him is a bit much and Y&R fans wonder if anyone else will say he should have saved the baby. The truth is he can always have another child but there would not have been another Sally if she had died. The Young and the Restless viewers are saying that because Adam had to choose between the baby and Sally has killed any chance of the two getting back together.

The Young and the Restless is predictable

This seems to be the trend with The Young and the Restless writers-to keep real-life couples apart on screen after their characters already had begun a relationship. Adam and Sharon Newman broke up while Mark Grossman was dating Sharon Case and Devon Hamilton and Elena Dawson split although Brytni Sarpy and Bryton James are together in real time. It was revealed near Christmas last year that Grossman is now with Hope and fabs gad expected the pattern to repeat and it seems it has.

Spoilers are teasing, however, that possible other love matches may be in a position to move forward in Genoa City. Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) may have designs on Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) and Nick and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case)might grow closer after their recent ordeal. Previously spoilers suggested that CHance and Sharon might get together so fans will have to watch and see which woman, if either he chooses. It's looking like Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) has her eyes set on Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) at least for the time being but would he really cheat on Sunmmer?

Can Adam find peace and happiness in Genoa City?

All around Adam, there will be the possibility of love while he will be feeling guilty and possibly wondering if he made the right decision. Y&R viewers are wondering why the writers continue to place Adam in impossible situations and like Schleprock nothing ever goes in his favor for long. Is there a viable future for Adam in Genoa City is what fans are wondering because his track record is not good.

How many times has Adam had his hands on Newman Enterprises only for Victoria to regain control? Even if Audra and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) get their desire to run Newman it would not last long. If Victor Newman 9Eric Braeden )punishes Victoria for being duped and places Adam in charge how long would it last before Vicki is at the helm again? If Sally rejects him who else is there for the black sheep Newman to consider for romance?

Perhaps through a twist of fate, Adam might end up with Chloe Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) since Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) is never onscreen. There just does not seem to be a place for either of them in Genoa City and as much as Chloe looks out for Sally she has not been a part of recent events in her friend's life. Mark Grossman deserves more for his character than to always walk around with that dark cloud and have bad luck like Schleprock but fans an continue to hope the writers will come to their senses.
