Why Ash's Bulbasaur Is The Batman Of His Original Team

1.) They Both Are Equipped With Projectiles

Bulbasaur and Batman both have projectiles they use against their enemies. Batman has smoke bombs, various batarangs and putty bombs. Bulbasaur has razor leaf, leech seed, poison powder and sleep powder. probably more that I'm forgetting to list from both. Its clear Batmans belt and Bulbasaurs bulb are both pretty well equipped for battle. Only difference is Bulbasaur can only use 4 of those attacks and Batmans are many more compartments on his belt. Even though Bulbasaur can only use 4 attacks I still wouldn't want to face off against any of them!

2.) both Use Grappling Techniques To Attack, Reach Or Grab Things

This is an obvious one. We've all seen both Batman and Bulbasaur use their vine whip and Grapple gun for years. The gun has been used for attacks such as pulling an enemy towards Batman (one of my favorite things to do on the Arkham games.) The whip has been used for whipping opponents and enemies. (Its in the name I know.) Both the gun and the whip have been used to save allies as well. When its Batman saving a falling citizen or a sidekick sometimes himself and superman isn't around the grapple gun comes in handy. When Ash's Charizard was being a grade A jerk wad Bulbasaurs vine whip saved him from peril. even though Bulbasaur can't fly just like Batman.

3.) Both Have Rejected "Power Ups" In The Past

This one might be a little bit of a reach, but the comparison is still there. Bulbasaur turned down evolving in the classic mysterious garden episode after Venasaur displays his power in front of him. Bruce is a bit different sometimes he can be seduced to taking the power boost but he'll later regret it or it'll be temporary when a fight is looking too bleak for him and his friends. In Batman Beyond when Bruce is seduced to use the lazarus pit he has a moment where he gets mad and starts smashing everything in front of him. calling it "a cheat." Batman was also once addicted to venom, the drug that's famously used by Bane. He beats his addiction towards the end of the story. Despite these examples and many more nothing, beats the classic Batman with just his skills and weapons. similar to Bulasaur.

4.) Both Are Respected Figures/Leaders Of Their Teams And Families/Both "Families" They Have, Have No Blood Relation With Them

Batman has the bat family and the Justice League. While Bulbasaur has Oaks fields and when we first met him in the hidden village. While Batman isn't a powerhouse like Superman. Hes still respected in both his groups hes associated with. He gives confidence to "more powerful" beings such as the green lantern or Flash. He can provide master strategies in battle. So his friends enter level headed. With Bulbasaur he is a peace keeper with other Pokemon bigger or more powerful he is the voice of reason and perspective in his community. He is an older brother figure with others like May's Bulbasaur. They both are respected voices that been around the block of pain and struggle which leads to my next comparison.

5.) They're Both Orphans

Probably the most common known similarity they both have. They both are orphans. They also have sympathy towards the "weak" and those who need help. Look to when Bulbasaur was protecting Oddish when we first met him in the hidden village episode in the anime. When Bruce took in Dick Grayson the first Robin. it was because he saw both of Dicks parents get gunned down. Both Bulbasaur and Bruce have their soft spots for abandoned, hurt or loners because they were alone themselves.

BONUS.) What Other League Members Do Ash's First 6 Resemble

Pikachu = The Flash: Because of the badass combo attack ash uses with Pikachu, agility and quick attack. His first partner gets a Flash comparison with me.

Pidgeotto/Pidgeot = Hawkgirl/Hawkman: Both are always down for a fight. They both protect their own, and others and are a part of a bird family.

Charmander/Charizard = Superman: In terms of power Ash's Charizard is his Kryptonian powerhouse. Ash's Charizard has taken on Articuno and won. An Entei in the 3rd movie. He has also beaten other high level Pokemon who have had type advantages against him and won.

Squirtle = Cyborg: Not just because I wouldn't want to face off between squirtles Hydro Pump and cyborgs Sonic cannon. Their personalities to me seem like they'd get along the best if the both hung out.

Butterfree = Green Lantern: Hal Jordan dreamed of being a pilot. He eventually did. Then also became a lantern. The same goes to Caterpie. It dreamed of flying and became a butterfree. They also both have girlfriends who are brightly colored. With Carol when shes out of costume obviously.

Extra

Muk = Martian Manhunter: Both Resemble "out of this world beings". The martian can phase through attacks. Muk can absorb them. It'll take something unconventional sometimes something basic to beat both.

Krabby/Kingler = Aquaman: Ash's most powerful water Pokemon at the time. The comparison is in the name KINGler. So I'll give him the king of Atlantis. Plus Kingler's big pincer reminds me of Aquaman's Hook hand when his regular hand got cut off.

Tauros = Red Tornado: This was a tough one, but id imagine a running bull and a tornado could be put under the unstoppable force and immovable object. Category the tornado is obviously the more dangerous of the two, but you wouldn't wanna stand in front of either two.

Two guys who are not the strongest, but still provide "rays of light" to whoever they come in contact with Bulbasaur and Batman. Am I spot on?
