So, you have watched the new Mortal Kombat character ending like Black Adam Teaser starring "The Rock" and that's why you are here aren't you? Well I think the choice they made to give Black Adam a own movie is super cool and what makes it even cooler is the fact that they are including The Justice society - Doctor Fate, Cyclone, Atom Smasher and Hawkman. Without wasting much time let's see who this Black Adam guy is and where he came from.

Where is he from and how did he get his powers?

Due to DC's continuity continuously changing Black Adam has a lot of continuity but I'll be sharing the predominant one here. Black Adam's Real name is Teth-Adam or “Mighty Adam” who is the son of Pharaoh Ramses II. Teth-Adam was born on September 11, 1279 BC, in the fictional nation of Kahndaq. He impresses one of the high priests, the wizard Shazam, with his good deeds which made the wizard Shazam think he is the perfect successor and imbued his powers to him.

But unlike Shazam who depends on the Greek gods power, Black Adam depends on the powers of Egyptian deities...

1. Stamina of Shu

2. Swiftness of Heru

3. Strength of Amon

4. Wisdom of Zehuti

5. Power of Aton

6. Courage of Mehen

Why did he turn Evil?

The one who gave him power was Shazam and the one who made him evil was Shazam's Daughter, that's right his own daughter, Blaze. She convinces Adam that he and her should rule Egypt, so he kills the Pharaoh and appoints himself ruler. Shazam learns about this and strips black Adam's powers and encases them in a mystical scarab necklace. Adam's depowered body rapidly experiences the aging process that the magic had staved off, and the former hero withers away into a dried cadaver in seconds. Shazam buries both the body and the scarab in the tomb of Ramesses II, where he plans for it to remain for all eternity. During his death, the former hero is referred to as "Khem-Adam" ("Black Adam").

How did he come back from death?

Thousands of years later, during the late 20th century, an unscrupulous archaeological aide named Theo Adam finds himself assigned to the Malcolm Expedition, financed by the Sivana Foundation to excavate the tomb of Ramesses II. Adam uncovers Khem-Adam's tomb in a secret passageway, and leads his superiors, C.C. Batson and his wife Marilyn, to the discovery. Upon first sight of Khem-Adam's scarab, Theo Adam becomes obsessed with the artifact, and kills both Batson's in order to steal it. Escaping Egypt, Theo Adam soon made his way back to America.

The Batsons' son, Billy, has been left behind in the United States, and is drafted by Shazam to become the wizard's second champion, Captain Marvel/Shazam . When Theo Adam first encounters Captain Marvel, he notes both Marvel's identical appearance to C.C. Batson and the lightning-bolt insignia on Marvel's chest that had also decorated Khem-Adam's tomb. Adam therefore has a revelation, and realizes that he is a reincarnation of Khem-Adam. Grasping his stolen scarab, Adam speaks Shazam's name and is transformed into the super-powered Black Adam. Black Adam reveals himself to Captain Marvel as the Batsons' killer, and the two battle.

Will the movie have the same origin?

No, the movie will have a better and logical origin than what they did in the comics according to me. After seeing the teasers, we can get a little hint on what his origin is. It looks like he led a slave revolt in Khandaq and tore down his oppressors, but he also abused his powers in the eyes of the gods. His brand of justice was ruthless, and he was ultimately imprisoned for 5,000 years by the gods who initially bestowed his power upon him. Johnson added during the FanDome panel, "He does not practice restraint. That makes for a really powerful combination and one that's explosive, one that's really dangerous, and one that is, ultimately, very likable, to me at least."

What is the Justice Society of America?

The Justice Society of America was a war-time group of super-heroes. Decades after the war, they reformed, happily taking the back seat to teams like the Justice League and Teen Titans, and focusing instead of maintaining and nurturing superhero legacy. And from seeing the teaser I am sure that Black Adam will be fighting these Superheroes. In the teaser we could see Doctor Fate, Cyclone, Atom Smasher and Hawkman.

What I expect from the new Black Adam movie?

Black Adam and the members of The Justice Society of America are some of the coolest character DC has. Black Adam is a guy who rips people into pieces, I don't them to make him funnier or a joke like what they did with Batman from The Justice League movie, they made him a joke. Dwayne Johnson is perfect for Black Adam, don't waste him DC. Thank you.
