With the addition of several new characters in season 4 of Netflix's Elite, the already large cast of characters expands even more. Each new character brings a new dynamic to the show, sparking new drama and more mysterious developments in the plot. The existing characters remain distinguishable among the pack, each with their own set of values.

The students of Las Encinas all have their own agendas, and often the clique ends up divided over whatever issue (or murder mystery) is affecting them at any given time. With so many unique personalities, the characters of Elite are many and diverse enough to represent the 12 zodiac signs and their trademark qualities.

12. Aries - Patrick

Patrick is one of the new students introduced in season 4, the brother of Mencia and Aria, and son of the school's new CEO, Benjamin. From the get-go, Patrick makes his desires clear, just like an Aries. No challenge proves to big for him, not even destroying Ander and Omar's relationship.

For the most part, he presents himself as an optimistic and cheerful person, and it's in the nature of an Aries to be positive about things. Patrick is passionate and unafraid to hide his feelings, which is one of Aries' most admirable traits. On the other hand, he displays selfish tendencies in his romantic forays.

11. Taurus - Guzmán

If any of the students of Las Encinas are stubborn, it's Guzmán. He never lets go of the past, which is most obvious in his relationship with Samuel. However, sometimes his perseverance serves him well.

Another Taurus quality that Guzmán demonstrates is his desire for comfort, pleasure, and luxury. Even when faced with grim situations, he prioritizes his own satisfaction. The same is true of his relationship with Nadia, with whom he's patient but still wants everything to be perfect. In this way, Guzmán shows that he's a Taurus through and through.

10. Gemini - Omar

The Gemini is known for its duality, something Omar reflects in his actions. Sometimes, he seems like a very serious, intense, and deeply caring person, and at other times, he channels Gemini's fun-loving but careless nature. He likes to party, which can be a weakness of his when tempted by the prospect of adventure, like when Patrick moves to Las Encinas.

Omar is known to be indecisive and impulsive, which greatly bothers his caring but conservative parents. Geminis are often the ones to start deep conversations, as Omar does on many occasions with Ander. And while he holds down his job, Omar displays the Gemini's knack for shirking responsibility, mostly responsibility to himself.

9. Cancer - Samuel

Like many Cancers, Samuel is loyal, protective, and sensitive. Sometimes his sensitivity can come across as moodiness, and he ends up hurting people because of this. He also displays Cancer's proclivity for vindictiveness. However, this desire to exact revenge stems from Cancer's deep sense of commitment.

Samuel remains committed to his friends even when they've wronged him. This goes for Marina even after she betrays him, Carla after she rejects him, Guzmán after an argument, and his old friends Nadia and Christian. Samuel is also known to be intense and overbearing, as well as quick to make decisions, all qualities of a Cancer.

8. Leo - Rebeka

Rebeka isn't one to back down from a fight, much like the Leo. Leos are fiery, passionate people, though sometimes they let themselves simmer down to steady, warm presences. Rebeka is a character who can be counted on to remain consistent. She is loyal to her friends and her mom in any situation, and she stands by her beliefs when tested.

Rebeka also displays the Leo's determination. She's a figher both literally and figuratively. However, when she allows her softer side to show, she's generous and lets her big heart decide for her head. With Samuel, her mother, Alexis, and even Mencia, she's tempted by Leo's tendency to be arrogant and stubborn, but the generous side of her wins out over the cold and independent.

7. Virgo - Ari

Ari is an intriguing new character in season 4, and she sparks a lot of controversy among the main characters. Sometimes, she seems sweet, if manipulative, but when viewers get a look at her life at home, Ari's true nature is revealed. She's a caring person, but uses her logic, practicality, and systematic thought process to guide her.

As a perfectionist, Ari gets upset when things don't go her way. She displays these Virgo traits to the extreme, which is part of why many people, including Patrick, don't warm to her. However, when she lets herself, Ari can be gentle, supportive, and helpful. She does go to great lengths to protect her sister, after all. Ari also cares greatly about visual aesthetics, especially her clothes, and that's another Virgo trait.

6. Libra - Cayetana

Though Libras are known for their superficiality and materialism, Cayetana is one of the most intelligent characters in Elite. Sure, she loves fashion and even wants to be a designer one day, but she's cunning and socially adept. This charm and charisma is something the Libra is known for, and it's what saves Cayetana on several occasions.

Cayetana's weaknesses include her dependence on other people, especially in romantic relationships. Until season 4, she seems to believe she needs a romantic partner in order to succeed in the cutthroat world of Elite. Libras often want partners who look good with them, which is partly true of Cayetana, but she also uses them to get what she wants.

5. Scorpio - Carla

A fan favorite, Carla is one of the most complex characters in Elite. Sometimes her choices are controversial, but she's always guided by her strong instincts and core values. As a Scorpio, Carla is brave, loyal, and honest. She defies her family's expectations and ends up forging her own path in the world. Even after Polo betrays her, she wants to protect him.

Carla is brutally honest with her friends, which can hurt them, but in the long run, being honest is the right thing to do. On the other hand, Carla can also seem distant and mysterious, like she's not always revealing her true thoughts. But, when she does speak, she doesn't hold back. She's serious, intense, and emotional, which is why she's such a great match for Samuel.

4. Sagittarius - Mencia

Of all the rebellious teens in the series, Mencia may just be the most adventurous. She goes against her father's wishes, often simply to oppose him. The truth is that Mencia is just like a typical Sagittarius, and this zodiac sign often craves freedom. Mencia feels too contained and restless in her current lifestyle, and she wants to liberate herself.

Mencia also displays Sagittarius's tactlessness. She doesn't always think things through, which can lead to fun, spontaneous adventures, or deadly traps set by men like Armando. Mencia is also reluctant to accept help from others, and it's this Saggitarian independence that puts distance between her and Rebeka, who wants to save her.

3. Capricorn - Nadia

Nadia is one of Las Encinas's top academic achievers, and her success is largely due to her ambition. She has big dreams for her future, which she gets to pursue in season 4. Capricorns are known for their persistence and discipline, which Nadia displays not only in an academic setting, but also in her relationship with Guzmán.

Though she loves him, she knows that she has to prioritize herself. She also wants to do right by her family, but sometimes the Capricorn qualities in her can make her touchy and even pessimistic. On the other hand, all of her decisions are well-informed and practical, including her breakup from Guzmán.

2. Aquarius - Phillipe

Phillipe is a controversial new addition to the cast, leading characters like Cayetana to consider crossing the personal lines and doing some of the worst things they've ever done. As a prince, he's the most privileged student at Las Encinas, but he feels weighed down by his strict lifestyle.

Aquariuses like mental stimulation and want to be original. Phillipe's family doesn't allow him to be who he wants to be. It's often hard to pin down this zodiac sign because of their eccentricity, but Phillipe displays the Aquarius's need to solve problems and make things right. In this case, he shows compassion to Cayetana — but then reveals himself to be something of a villain.

1. Pisces - Ander

Despite everything that's happened to and around him, Ander remains one of the most laid-back characters in Elite. Like a true Pisces, he has a hard time accepting help from others while he gives everything of himself to be empathetic. This holds true even in extreme situations: Discovering that Omar cheated on him while he was in chemo, Ander puts himself in Omar's shoes.

Pisces' weakness is that they can be overly trusting and easily swayed, which is true of Ander when it comes to Omar. However, this is a result of his deep loyalty and care. He falls hard and fast, as seen with other potential love interests on the show, like Alexis and Patrick, but in the end, Ander is there for those he always stands with, especially his best friend, Guzmán.
