Where the Hell is Aemond Targaryen in House of the Dragon?
Is he really dead, or does he have a major plan in store for the families battling for the Iron Throne?

Aemond Targaryen has been a huge mystery in season 3 of House of the Dragon. He has only appeared in one episode of season 3, in the first episode of the season so far. He was told to go to Harrenhal, because his mother, Alicent, told him to run away, since he would be killed by Rhaenyra if he stuck around. He listened to his mother after he shared a very uncomfortable intimate moment with his own mother...and then he left King's Landing on his dragon.
Once he arrived at Harrenhal, he killed everyone and ended up getting stabbed by one of the soldiers. Then he ran into Alys, the witch that had formed a strange bond with Daemon in season 2. She used her powers on him, making his wound even worse, and he collapsed on the floor, leaving his fate unknown.
Then in episode 4, the recent episode that was released last Sunday, showed Cole and Alicent's brother, arrive to Harrenhal. They were supposed to capture the castle with Aemond's help, but they never found him. They ran into Alys, who claimed that he has flown away with his dragon, abandoning his people.
I'm really hoping that Aemond isn't dead, but if he is, then this will be the most stupid move on the writers of this great series.
But something tells me that he is still alive, and he has a very dark plan in store for everyone involved in the war.
I have an insane theory here, but it makes a lot of sense, and I think that Aemond is going to come back with a major vengeance.
Back in season 2, Daemon had formed a bond with the witch, Alys. She then asked him, after helping him for one whole season, if he would make her the Lord of Harrenhal, but he refused. What if she asked the same of Aemond, and he agreed, so that she could save his life?
I think we could be getting a flashback episode of what went on between Aemond and Alys, and he indeed did leave Harrenhal, because where else can his massive dragon hide in Harrenhal???
I believe that Aemond and Alys both formed their own plan. If Alys spared him, perhaps she gave him advice like she did with Daemon, to help Aemond realize his true goal. He obviously is a power-hungry man, who desires the Iron Throne.
What if Aemond starts to see everyone as a threat? What if he decides to wipe out everyone, to ensure he will be the only one meant for the Iron Throne?
Aemond was willing to burn his brother, Aegon, to take his place on the throne. I think he is willing to do anything to make sure he will always be on top. I have this insane theory, and I really hope I'm wrong on this one...because if I'm right...all hell is going to break loose.
What if Aemond decides to attack Tumbleton?
We know that Ormund is holding the town hostage, there are innocent people staying here, two of Rhaenyra's dragon riders have been sent to the town to protect it, but they are both lack experience in combat. Daeron Hightower is staying here, and he could be seen as another threat for the throne. Plus, his dragon is chained up.
All of these reasons could lead to Aemond deciding to burn the town to the ground. He could do a huge sneak attack, attacking everyone and showing his true power, making him the main villain of the entire series.
Imagine if both the Hightowers and Rhaenyra's people realize that he is now against both families, leading down a path of a war that could become impossible to win.
It's a crazy theory, but damn, it would be totally insane if Aemond were to do something like this.
But honestly, I don't think I would put it pass him.
