Loneliness is a catalyst. When a person is lonely, he or she will always find his or her most emotionally sensitive points, which are constantly amplified by the catalyst of loneliness. These points will in turn act on the loner, who will briefly lose his or her judgment under these effects, including but not limited to the perception of the outside world. The reason for the loner's grouping is loneliness, and once this loneliness is lost, judgment is restored.

Fear Eats the Soul" tells the story of several lonely people who are in a group, two of whom are Amy, a cleaning lady in her sixties, and Ali, a foreign worker in her forties. Although Amy is nearly 60 years old, she has not lost her enthusiasm for her own existence. Because she lost her husband at an early age, Amy is desperate for the love of others, but the reality is unfortunate, as her children have all started their own families, and at the same time, they have their own lives, which is fortunate for Amy, but unfortunate at the same time. Amy lives alone, and only in the limited time Amy can get together with her children for a short time, loneliness surrounds Amy all the time.

The same situation surrounds Ali, a mechanic, who, because he is a foreigner and because he is an Arab, can only work as a mechanic, the most common profession for foreigners, and has little ability to socialize outside of his acquaintances. Ali could not find anyone to talk to in the Arab bars, and even the people in his own country were not willing to accept his loneliness. So, the lonely Ali meets the lonely Amy, and the two end up together despite the age gap.

Fear Eats the Soul" is a story of two lonely people. If we put aside the age gap and simply look at such two people from an emotional point of view, it is easy to find that loneliness plays an important role in this film. Because of loneliness, Amy came to this Arab bar to avoid the rain, and because of loneliness Amy accepted Ali's invitation to dance, or because of loneliness, Ali and Amy eventually became partners. The two people's unrequited love does not originate from any normal people should have the emotional basis, and the only basis to maintain them is loneliness. However, when this loneliness disappears, everything will change.

The reason that brought Amy and Ali together was loneliness, but that loneliness eventually disappeared. When this loneliness is packaged with all kinds of outside gossip, Amy and Ali's feelings are solid, because of the rejection of the outside world, the two people can therefore get closer, but when this loneliness disappears, the two people originally have a solid emotion will begin to dissipate.

Amy was afraid of accepting Ali, because of the rejection of her colleagues, because of the rejection of her neighbors, because of the rejection of her children and so on. As these rejections continue to appear around Amy, the loneliness that the outside world gives her is intensified. Her contact with the outside world was limited, and when this limited contact space was compressed indefinitely, the space left for Amy's survival was even less. Amy can't get more space from the outside world, so she can only put her hope for life on Ali.

This feeling is not unique to Amy. Although Ali often appeared in his friend's bar, the place did not welcome him as much as he thought. Ali's emotions are not anchored, and although he is a friend, no one is willing to be honest with Ali, and Ali is still faced with the embarrassment of not being accepted. However, this embarrassment in front of Amy will no longer exist. Amy can be accepted, it is enough.

So, Amy and Ali came together, two originally lonely people facing each other, finally saw what each pursued, two lonely acceptance of each other, will converge into not lonely. Therefore, when the resistance from the outside world is increasing, the two people's emotions are warming up one by one. This warming up is undoubtedly caused by the outside world. When the rejection is growing, even if two people do not want to come together, they will be slowly approaching after being constantly squeezed by the pressure from the outside world, however, this pressure is limited.

When the pressure of the outside world disappeared, leaving Amy and Ali became a chicken feather. Ali gradually feel that Amy to give their own is not what they really want, Ali met Amy when they were alone, but once this loneliness because of the change in the external environment and disappeared, Ali will no longer continue to feel that Amy for their own is the only.

And at this moment, Amy and Ali stick together with the pressure is also small, when this pressure becomes small, two loneliness will begin to show the role of repulsive, in this role, Amy for Ali's understanding will slowly fade. Feeling disrespected Ali and feel that the relationship into a solid period of Amy began to have a gap, so the two people's contradictions will be magnified.

Amy and Ali's loneliness may continue to appear and then dissipate because of various things. In front of the creation and disappearance, life begins to constantly divide and merge. The brief warmth will make people forget many things, including time, of course.
