The last episode of House of the Dragon is one of the best episodes so far in season 3. So much has taken place, and I'm so glad that we have returned to such a great fast paced storyline, compared to the slow one of season 2. A lot of bad things are taking place, and I think that the only person that got somewhat of a happy moment was Aegon.

Aegon is now stuck with Larys and Tyland Lannister, attempting to make his way to another town to avoid the oncoming war in Tumbleton. Since he is the king of the Iron Throne, he must avoid getting caught, because many would not hesitate to have his head. During his travels, he is stuck between both Tyland and Larys, who want to avoid the war. Aegon makes the decision to accept his fate and go down swinging. He wants to die a king, then a stranger that will never be remembered.

Tyland surprisingly chooses to stay with him, but Larys declines, and tells Aegon goodbye. Toward almost the end of the episode, we now see Aegon with Tyland, both men waiting for the army to arrive. Part of the Tully and Stark family arrive to their small camp, and even though both men are expressing fear, they both realize that they must accept their fate.

Aegon gives out a great monologue, proudly stating that he is Aegon, the true king to the Iron Throne. While the army is appearing unscathed by Aegon himself, the entire group, including Tyland, watch in horror when they see something emerging in the distance.

It turns out to be Sunfyre, Aegon's dragon, a crazy shocking return that was executed perfectly. I had a gut feeling that his dragon was alive, because I had gone back to watch the dragon fight in season 2, and I suspected that he was still kicking. Aegon eventually realizes during a hilarious moment that his dragon has returned to him. Aegon gives the order for the Sunfyre to burn the army, and he takes everyone out.

I thought it was a little bittersweet how Aegon and Sunfyre both look the same, when it comes to their injuries. They are now going to be the oddball warriors of the story and are now considered the underdogs of the battles to come.

After witnessing this amazing scene, I have two burning questions with what could be happening with Aegon's character later:

Will Aegon attempt to hunt down Larys for daring to abandon him?

Aegon and Larys both formed a friendship that quickly turned sour later. After Larys called Aegon a terrible man, it obviously left a bad taste in his mouth, but there was still respect between them. However, Aegon did not same too keen with Larys leaving him after he stated that he is willing to die.

I have a gut feeling that Aegon is going to hunt down Larys, and punish him for daring to betray him like that. I truly expected Tyland to betray Aegon, but I guess one of them proved who the real man in the group is. Larys definitely has his death coming, because he is a sadistic and evil bastard that likes to inflict torture on others, so burning him alive would be the ultimate karma.

Will Aegon join the battle in Tumbleton, or will he reside somewhere else to prepare his own army?

I highly doubt that Aegon is going to join the fight in Tumbleton, but now that Aegon has his dragon, he could be willing. However, I don't think he will do this, since Sunfyre is still heavily damaged, so maybe he will instead go somewhere else to conjure up his own army.

I definitely see him doing this, because having a dragon is going to earn Aegon major respect. He is most likely going to be against both the Hightowers and the Targaryen families. His own family betrayed him in their own way, and he will never get along with his half-sister or her people.

Aegon is going to be leading his own path to victory, and I believe he could be the only one to be left alive at the end of the battle.
