The Mandalorian Season 3 is being filmed and produced now. We have a lot to look forward to and things that we will miss out on. With production expected to last until sometime in the Spring of 2022, there are a lot of questions about the third season that fans are eager to have answered.

Of of the things that surprised me was when I heard Mercedes Varnado wouldn’t be returning to the series during season 3. Hopefully, as fans of wrestling are familiar with the term, this is just a “work”. This opens the question of Bo-Katan finding a new sidekick. Hopefully, Sasha banks will find her way back into the suit, and back onto the show during a later season. Perhaps she'll make an appearance in The Book Of Boba Fett.

Meanwhile, while Pedro Pascal is tied up filming a movie in Canada, we do know that he’ll be back as Din Djarin. Other returning cast favorites include Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, and Giancarlo Esposito as the evil Moff Gideon.

While the plot isn’t known there are the obvious storytelling points that need to be revisited. The Darksaber is in the possession of Mando. What might be the ramifications of him possessing such a powerful weapon, something with its’ ties to the dark side of the force? We know that Bo-Katan wanted possession of the Darksaber. Will she try to get control of it from Mando? She can be manipulative.

Then there is that ending to season two. The epic ending of season two included the surprise return of Luke Skywalker to the Star Wars Universe. Luke arrived to whisk Baby Yoda away for Jedi training. The child has magic powers, he’s just 50 years old compared with Yoda’s 900-year life span, and can save the universe.

What needs to happen at some point in season three? First, we need to check in on the training that Luke is giving to Grogu. The little green guy, affectionately named Baby Yoda after the only other one of his kind we ever saw in the series, was last seen being saved by Luke. Luke obviously was going to train Grogu in the ways of the force, helping him to harness the powers within him. With a new awakening in the force, another as powerful as Yoda, there will undoubtedly be more of the galaxy turning out to find the child.

Katie Sackhoff needs to appear. The character has a questionable allegieance with our heroes from season 2. Sackhoff is arguably a queen of sci-fi, having appeared in numerous sci-fi roles and bringing her talents with her. Many of the fans of the series hope to see more of Sackhoff, even though she's not officially listed as returning.

Carl Weathers's return is an absolute must. Weathers's dealings with the Mandolorian were an intricate part of the beginning of the series, as well as an intriguing part of the arc of the Mandolorian character. The relationship seems to have a bigger back story than we've really seen, thus far. There's some intriguing storytelling yet to do there.

And, there is more to see of Giancarlo Esposito and Moff Gideon. Moff Gideon will no doubt continue his search for the child. He undoubtedly will want to retrieve the dark saber. Will his motivations align with or betray his true nature.

We know that before the Mandalorian ever hits, without having a release date, we have the book of Boba Fett to look forward to. The Book of Boba Fett drops on Disney +.

Speaking of The Book Of Boba Fett, the first trailer dropped and has already reached over 1.5 million views, telling Disney and Disney Plus how anxious the world is for more stories from the Star Wars Universe. Ming-Na Wen and Temuera Morrison return to the screen

The spin-off series will focus on its title character as he travels the criminal underworld in the post Jedi universe. Boba, played by Temeura Morrison, who originally played Jengo Fett in the Star Wars prequels, along with his partner in crime, Fennec Shand, make their way to Tatooine to take a share of the lands once controlled by Jabba the Hutt. Boba hopes to rule over the former territory, once controlled by the Hutts, in a very different way. The show will see him try and make an alliance on Tatooine, rather than the tyrannical style that Jaba once ruled under. Along the way, he and Shand will be forced to deal with a number of obstacles as they encounter the most wretched hives of scum and villainy.
