The world is saturated with fan artists trying to make a name for themselves by doodling Doomsday or sketching Superman, so how do you pick the good from the bad? In the 21st century boom of superhero cinema, it can sometimes seem that any Tom Wayne, Dick Grayson, or Harry Osborn can pick up photoshop and craft a masterpiece, however, fan art means big business. If you are the likes of frequent favorite BossLogic, there are opportunities to make a living out of it, but how do you know when you have really made it as an artist?

Trawling through the depths of Google search — and away from pornographic scenes of fanfiction — you can find some truly wonderful pieces of art (and some not so good). However, when #ZackSnyder himself gives you credit, you know that you must be doing something right. This is exactly what happened to artist George Evangelista, who found the #DCEU bigwig singing his praises.

Shared on Vero, Snyder agrees with someone names Josh that Evangelista's work is the bee's knees, and it isn't hard to see why. The image is a modern interpretation of the iconic, bulletproof Superman image from Alex Ross, but this time we have swapped our comic book counterpart for a live-action #HenryCavill. While Snyder has stepped away from Justice League for personal reasons, it is still fantastic to see that he is so involved.

We know that Snyder and co. have an affinity with the DC source material, so does Snyder sharing Evangelista's work point to the possibility of this shot being in JL? Although the Man of Steel has been conspicuously absent from market material and trailers for #JusticeLeague, even Jason Momoa has confirmed Clark Kent's return, meaning you don't have to be Brainiac to realize that red and blue suit will be flying in at some point during the superhero ensemble.

As for the fan art, for those who still aren't convinced that Evangelista is a star on the rise can check out some more of his work below:

We have already seen BossLogic share their own interpretations of the studio's upcoming Flashpoint movie, but Evangelista puts his own twist on the story arc. Admittedly, his Green Lantern does look a bit like someone stuck Ben Stiller in the suit — apparently it is James Marsden — but his skill is undeniable nonetheless. Interestingly, Evangelista takes it one step further than your average artist and actually does his own casting to fully realize the vision — can anyone else see Jude Law as Brainiac?

So, if Evangelista doesn't already have a career as a comic book artist or concept designer, expect Snyder to be straight on the phone when he is back on his feet. Watch out, Alex Ross, you could have some competition there!
