Vadh 2 Ending Explained: Who Killed Keshav and Why Was Prakash Singh Framed?

Vadh 2 is a dark crime thriller built around one disturbing question: what happens when the law punishes an innocent person but fails to punish the real criminal?

The story revolves around Manju Singh, an elderly prisoner who has spent almost 28 years behind bars for a double murder. Everyone believes she committed the crime, but the ending reveals that her entire life was destroyed because of a carefully hidden truth.

Why Was Manju Singh in Prison for 28 Years?

Years earlier, Manju was accused of brutally murdering a married couple. She failed to prove her innocence and was sentenced to 28 years in prison.

By the time the main story begins, Manju is close to completing her sentence. She has adjusted to prison life and dreams of moving to Dharamshala after her release, where she wants to open a small Maggi stall.

Inside the prison, she shares a close bond with Shambhunath Mishra, an old prison guard who secretly helps inmates obtain things from outside.

Everything changes after a new superintendent, Prakash Singh, arrives at Shivpuri Jail.

Who Is Keshav?

Keshav is the powerful and violent son of an MLA. His political connections allow him to behave almost as if prison rules do not apply to him.

He terrorizes inmates and even threatens female constable Ragini when he becomes interested in a young prisoner named Naina.

Naina, only 22, has been accused in a bank fraud case even though she claims her boss was responsible. Keshav manipulates the situation to make sure she does not receive bail.

Eventually, he orders Ragini to bring Naina to him.

Who Actually Killed Keshav?

One night, Naina is taken to the prison dispensary where Keshav attempts to assault her.

Manju hears Naina screaming and enters the room to save her. A violent struggle follows. Keshav attacks both women, but Manju fights back and ultimately kills Keshav while protecting Naina.

This is the biggest turning point in Vadh 2.

Manju then contacts Shambhunath Mishra for help. Mishra cleans the blood from the dispensary and secretly removes Keshav's body using his vegetable cart.

He later hides the corpse in his freezer before eventually burying it.

As a result, investigators initially believe Keshav has escaped from prison.

Why Was Prakash Singh Suspected?

Investigation officer Ateet Singh is assigned to find out what happened to Keshav.

There is already evidence against Prakash because, shortly before Keshav disappeared, Prakash had brutally beaten him. During that confrontation, Prakash's ring fell near Keshav.

Around a year later, Keshav's body suddenly appears in Prakash Singh's backyard, along with evidence connecting Prakash to him.

It appears someone deliberately wants Prakash to be blamed.

But why would Manju and Mishra frame him?

That question leads to the movie's biggest revelation.

Vadh 2 Final Twist Explained

The ending reveals that Manju never committed the double murder for which she spent 28 years in prison.

The real killer was Prakash Singh.

The murdered woman was Prakash's niece. She had married a man from a lower caste, something Prakash strongly opposed. Because of his caste prejudice, Prakash murdered both his niece and her husband.

Manju was present and witnessed what happened.

Instead of allowing the truth to emerge, Prakash attacked Manju and successfully framed her for the murders.

She then lost 28 years of her life for crimes she never committed.

Suddenly, Manju's reaction when Prakash first entered the prison makes complete sense: she recognized the man responsible for destroying her life.

Why Does Ateet Let Manju Go?

After discovering everything, Ateet faces a moral dilemma.

Legally, Manju killed Keshav, Mishra helped hide the body, and evidence was planted to implicate Prakash.

But Ateet also learns that Keshav was attacking Naina when Manju intervened. More importantly, Prakash had already escaped punishment for two murders while Manju served his sentence for almost three decades.

Mishra argues that Manju did not simply commit a murder—she stopped a dangerous man while saving an innocent woman.

Ateet ultimately chooses his own version of justice.

He confronts Prakash and brings up the murders committed 28 years earlier. Prakash, who once made an innocent woman pay for his crimes, now finds himself facing punishment.

What Does the Ending of Vadh 2 Mean?

The ending deliberately challenges the difference between law and justice.

Manju loses 28 years because the legal system fails her. Keshav abuses his political power because the system repeatedly protects him. Prakash commits murder and continues living freely because an innocent woman takes the blame.

By the finale, the same system is turned against Prakash.

That does not make every decision morally or legally correct, but that uncomfortable contradiction is exactly what gives Vadh 2 its ending.
