Creative. Yeah... Okay... Moving on...We all know the feeling of being there... Yeah?

I assume you're asking yourself, just where might that be, well, it's in the inescapable Hell known as... Come closer...

Living Single (1993-1998)

We are living (Hey)

Single!

Most know this short, yet, iconic theme song brought to us by the Queen of Unity, the legendary, Queen Latifah. Also starring in the TV series, that ran for five seasons and over 100+ episodes, this series showcased indpendence, friendship, success... from the black man and woman's prospective. It focused on the lives of six black friends, through their personal and professional experiences in a Brooklyn Brownstone. Even though this series has a strong base, it's sometimes forgotten about, getting lost in time, to other more successul black sit-coms.

However, I still remember a time, when my family would be watching this when I was a kid. It presented young, black adulthood in a entertaining, but inspirational way. A message that through the ups and downs of life, there's nothing like having good friends around. It's a beautiful series and as a black man, it's nice to go back and see strong male leads representing our community on screen, that doesn't include sports, drugs, and music. They make the characters relatable and no matter your race, you'll find something from this tv show. A show that represents black excellence through and through, if you haven't rewatched this or if you haven't seen it... You should have done that like yesterday!

Pen15 (2019-Present)

Okay, moving on. Moving on. Before we start our next trip, a little disclaimer:

--DO NOT watch this with your younger children! I REPEAT, DO NOT! However, any somewhat responsible adult, can and should be watching this show!--

AND! You must sign in blood...

I'm kidding.

Our next show, Pen15, is hilariously accurate as two young ladies play their middle school selves among true middle schoolers, as they start middle school, probably the most dreadful experience ever for outcasts... However, there are so many nostalgic moments, that no millenials kids will EVER find funny... ugh, and that's really unfortunate. You know things like... Dial-up internet (The fucking worst)... House phones... Gel pens and the list goes on. Outside of those things, this show also hits on race, peer pressure, bullying, and just the everyday AWKWARD STAGES OF BEING in middle school. So many people, including myself, have tons of memories, some good, some bad, but we all have moments in middle school that are showcased more often than not, in this show.

I can't tell you what to do, but to quote one of the characters, you'll understand why you need to stop what you're doing... "You're my actual rainbow gel pen, in a sea of blue and black writing utensils" Damn, that hits hard... anybody?

Look, Stranger Things isn't going anywhere, trust me on this! I've binged it more than 10 times...

I know... I know... It's sad. It's just so good.

Do yourself a favor and start this series, don't make it harder than it needs to be, okay? You don't have to ask any questions... Wait! you seriously just asked, can you trust me? Of course you can. Did I watch this show? OF COURSE I DID! And you should too!

Pick of the Litter (2019-Present)

It's been a long journey for us, but we're finally here... The end of the list and it's ADORABLE! This last pick is for those animal lovers looking for something the entire family can sit through. *Side Note: Bring your tissues.* This show tells the story of the world's best four-legged friends, as they go through the training to become SEEING EYE DOGS. It's remarkable and extremely educational... I'm sure many including myself, came out of watching this, with a new appreciation on pets, especially dogs. So much goes into becoming a dog with the privilage of guiding the seeing impaired. The show also takes us into the world of the individuals needing their assistance and companionship....

(Whew) Just give me a moment... With everything happening in the world around us, it's nice to having something to turn to... If you're wishing you had something to watch, tired of listening to your friends, family, or partner complain about "There's nothing on TV."

Find your escape here...

In a series that makes for a truly, down to earth experience, FULL from START to FINISH of LOVE and COMPASSION.

For all you dog owners out there, this IS IT! It's short and sweet with only SIX episodes, you and your furry friends can binge this together because when it's over with, you'll be wanting to cuddle them and show them that same affection they show you, each and everyday.

Ahhhh... We've reached our bittersweet end... But before you go, let me say something... I'm not trying to tell you what to do or maybe I am, but if you find yourself on Twitter, click that follow button :) @WritingisLife7

Decide if you're going to be that RAINBOW GEL PEN or just another BLACK AND BLUE... WRITING UTENSIL..

Cringy...

That is all.
