We've all been there, scanning through our Netflix subscription feed. Seems as if we've seen all there is to see, watched all the shows, and replayed White Chicks 20 times. Well, if you're looking for something fresh to watch you came to the right place. Here are my top five suspenseful Netflix films!

5. The Good Neighbor

This is one movie I'd have to say is different than most. Whenever the movie starts you don't know much, for good reason. It's about these two teenagers Ethan (Logan Miller) and Sean (Keir Gilchrist) working on a project for their school. Their goal at the end of the experiment is to get the neighbor to believe in paranormal activity. Instead, they end up creating a chain of events that leads to something different than they expected.

I know I put this at number five but, only because it starts a little slow. So if you've got the time, grab some popcorn, a friend and enjoy!

4. It Follows

The concept of it follows is something I have never heard before, and very original. It all starts with a girl named Jay (Maika Monroe) who sleeps with her new lover, Hugh (Jake Weary), for the first time. It doesn't take long before she learns she is the next victim of a fatal curse that is passed through sexual intercourse.

Soon she doesn't know who to trust or turn to because Death is inevitable and can disguise itself as the people closest to her. Overall this is a great movie for couples, you won't be near each other all night!

3. The Babadook

Ugh, I can't begin to tell you how much I love this movie! It's not just a movie about an evil entity known as the Babadook. It also revolves heavily around grief and how it can affect our lives in a negative way.

The story begins with a woman named Amelia (Essie Davis) and her six-year-old son Samuel (Noah Wiseman), who for the longest time has been alone since her husband Oskar's death. Things start to affect Amelia in a negative light after her son finds a strange book in his room called The Babadook. Soon her son begins fearing this imaginary creature, where as Amelia won't have it until the Babadook reveals itself to her.

If you enjoy scarier, thrilleresque type movies, grab yourself some popcorn and a blanket, because this one's for you!

2. Beasts Of No Nation

Without giving too much away and spoiling the movie, a civil war has broken out in a West African country. Agu (Abraham Attah), a young boy from one of the villages is separated from his family. After wandering through the jungle for some time, he's recruited as an NDF child soldier. Not long after he becomes a fully-fledged member of the militia, that kills on command, follows every order, and is the commandants right hand.

Over the course of time, he begins losing values he once stood by and doing things he never thought he could. Will he find a way out or continue on the path he's taken?

This movie really makes you realize that stuff like this may be going on all around us. It's sad to see, but very educational and overall deep.

1. Train To Busan

Zombie films have become something of a habitual thing. With plenty of people trying to get on the band wagon after The Walking Dead aired. Most of these types of films are cheesy, corny or just a low budget recreation of the same story. With Train To Busan, it's a little different. Our characters Seok-woo (Gong Yoo) and his young daughter Soo-an (Kim Su-an), have boarded a Train To Busan.

It's his daughter's birthday and for her gift, they're going to see her mother. Unknown to them a woman has just boarded the train with a bite on her neck! As you may have guessed it, a zombie outbreak wreaks havoc on the train. Now it's up to Seok-woo and the passengers to fight off the hoard till they get to Busan.

This is subtitles only, I believe, but if you're into Korean dramas like me this may be for you.
