For many, K-pop is one of the latest music trends to sweep the world, but for those who have followed the genre for decades, it is an industry filled with unique visuals and musical styles, with ups and downs. Life is not easy for K-pop idols, a fact that Korean TV has taken advantage of with Korean dramas as long as the industry is profitable.

From insight into the daily lives of successful idols to moving stories that reveal the dark side of K-pop, there is a K-drama to suit everyone's perceptions of the genre.

10. Idol: Coup follows a girl group on the verge of breaking up

Idol: Coup Follow the members of the five-member K-pop girl group Cotton Candy as they wish to win on the music program before their seemingly inevitable breakup. The series premiered on the Korean network JTBC in late 2021 and ran for 12 episodes.

EXID's lead singer Hani and Laboum member Solbin play Cotton Candy's captain and lead dancer Jenna and Hyunji, respectively, while WJSN rapper Exy plays the lead singer of the EI group.Other actors include oh my God Actor Guo Siyang as the CEO of Marshmallow Company, former Production X 101 player Kim Min-gyu will play the captain of the male group Mars.

You are pretty Actor Lee Hyun-woo plays the lead role, and Red Velvet's lead singer Joy plays his mistress in her acting debut.

Liar and His Lover It premiered on tvN in early 2017 for a standard 16 episodes before being added to Netflix internationally. It won two awards, including the OSEN Newcomer Award for Joey's performance in the series.

Part-time idol exists, a respected music producer returned from a year-long sabbatical with plans to launch a new music career. However, when he returned to his company, he discovered that most of his interns had left, leaving only five. The series premiered in 2017 and consists of five 30-minute episodes. Hyun Bin from JBJ, Bibi from the dance group Purplow, and Lee Soo Hyun from AKMU.

2018, High Management, a webseries based on the web novel of the same name, premieres on YouTube, tells the story of a former idol intern who uses her precognitive skills to manage SOUL - a new male group with a lot of talent and ambition. After the members become involved in a scandal, she must help them cope with the tough industry they are in.

Seo Eun Soo and Ahn Hyo Sub, both famous for their Doctor Romance roles, respectively, star as agent Eun Sung and group member Soo Rong. Astro member Eunwoo also has a lead role as another SOUL member named Yeonwoo. high administration 16 episodes have aired, 3 of which are free to watch on 1thek.

3. Parodies follows the lives, scandals, and romances of several successful idols

Its popularity also led to a sequel, Dream Heights 2though it does not include any of the original cast.

You are beautiful focuses on the relationship between the members of ANJELL, a pop rock band that has just welcomed a new member named Go Minam. What they don't know is that the Minam they know is actually a woman named Minyeo who took the place of her twin brother when she underwent plastic surgery in the United States.

The show features popular actors Jang Keun Suk and Park Shin Hye, CNBlue's Jung Yong Hwa, and FT Island's Hong Ki as ANJELL members. Despite the average viewership during its original broadcast, You're Beautiful gained a large following through streaming on the Internet and has become one of the representative dramas of the Korean wave.
