(No, this isn’t like the ones your friends recommend and you say you’ll “add them to your list” when in reality you don’t even have a list and you watch your same comfort shows over and over again.)

1. Hercules

2. Peter Pan

3. Mulan

4. Beauty and the Beast

5. Cinderella

6. Aladdin

Listen. We can all agree Hades is hands down one of the best parts of Hercules. How can anyone compete with a sassy, charismatic morally grey character? (He had an underworld to run, okay?) Lucifer is a show full of funny and unexpected moments with brilliant storylines and character development. No Greek mythology here, but a fun twist on biblical figures!

2. Peter Pan

(Photo: Netflix)

Show: Locke & Key

Summary: Following their father's murder, three siblings move into a house filled with reality-bending keys; from the comics by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez.

Find It: Netflix

New worlds and dual-dimensions? Look no further than Locke & Key. It’s a clever show with a touch of whimsy that blends fantasy and reality!

3. Mulan

Show: Agent Carter

Summary: It’s 1946 and peace has dealt Agent Peggy Carter, a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR, Peggy finds herself stuck doing administrative work when she would rather be back out in the field, putting her vast skills into play and taking down the bad guys.

Find It: Disney+

Seasons: 2 Seasons

Rating: TV-14

Female empowerment? Yes, please! There’s no damsel in distress here as Agent Carter can handle kicking ass on her own. If you love Marvel and action, this one is for you!

4. Beauty and the Beast

(Photo: Netflix)

Show: The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes

5. Cinderella

Show: Schitt’s Creek

Summary: When the filthy-rich Roses suddenly find themselves broke they're forced to rebuild their empire within their only remaining asset - Schitt's Creek.

Find It: Netflix

Seasons: 6 Seasons

Rating: TV-MA

If dysfunctional family dynamics are your thing, look no further than Schitt’s Creek. A reverse “rags-to-riches” comedy full of sweet and romantic moments that gives the show a truly unique feel.

6. Aladdin

(Photo: TV Land)

Show: Younger

Summary: A 40-year-old divorcee who has to manage her career in a publishing company having faked her identity as a younger woman to get her job, while her romantic and professional lives are measured against ups and comings.

Find It: Prime Video

Seasons: 6 Seasons

Rating: TV-14

Not everyone can successfully pretend to be someone they’re not as they try to make a name for themselves. There’s no Robin Williams as genie and no Abu as a trusty animal side-kick . . . but there is an O.W.L (old, wise lesbian) to lend a hand. The cast includes Hilary Duff to fulfil all your Lizzie McGuire nostalgic as well, making this a 2-for-1 bonus! It really is what dreams are made of.

7. Atlantis

(Photo: Netflix)

Show: Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Summary: Brilliant but immature Brooklyn detective Jake Peralta must learn to follow the rules and be a team player when his squad gets an exacting new captain.

Find It: Netflix

Seasons: 7 Seasons

Rating: TV-14

Chaos. Shenanigans. Things that don’t go according to plan. What better rag-tag group of individuals working together could you ask for? Also, Captain Holt is 100% a reincarnation of Wilhelmina Bertha Packard, the sarcastic radio operator we all know and love.

8. The Hunchback of Notre Dame

(Photo: Netflix)

Show: Greenleaf

Summary: Although members of the Greenleaf family run a Memphis megachurch, their business and personal lives are tainted with greed, adultery and other sins.

Find It: Netflix

Seasons: 5 Seasons

Rating: TV-14

Corrupt church? Step aside Claude Frollo, it’s time to make room for the Greenleaf family . . . even though no one sings Hellfire.

9. The Sword and the Stone

(Photo: Netflix)

Show: Merlin

Summary: This family-oriented retelling of the King Arthur legend finds Merlin arriving in Camelot, where he hones his magic skills with the help of his uncle

Find It: Netflix

Seasons: 5 Seasons

Rating: TV-PG

Probably the most obvious on the list, but Merlin has a ton of King Author content to binge. Magic. Sword fights. Need I say more?

10. Alice in Wonderland

(Photo: HBO)

Show: Euphoria

Summary: A group of high school students navigates drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love and friendship.

Find It: Crave

Seasons: 1 Season

Rating: TV-MA

Alice in Wonderland had long been speculated to make reference to drug abuse (Alice drinking potions, eating questionable things, hallucinating, etc) while the world around her makes whimsical twists and turns. Euphoria is the grown-up version of Alice in Wonderland, tackling issues like drug use/abuse and dysfunctional teenage antics.

BONUS: OVERALL WINNER

(Photo: abc)

Show: Galavant

Summary: Galavant is a dashing knight, down on his luck, determined to reclaim his reputation and his "Happily Ever After" by going after the evil King Richard, who ruined it the moment he kidnapped the love of Galavant's life, Madalena.

Find It: Disney+

Seasons: 2 Seasons

Rating: TV-PG

The overall winner, no matter your favourite, is Galavant. This show is one of the most underrated shows I’ve ever stumbled upon. It’s full of satire, sass, and hilarious music numbers. It’s like a Disney renaissance movie mixed with a fantasy fuelled musical comedy. It’s like a Monty Python x The Princess Bride crossover. At the very least, listen to the theme song. You’ll fall in love just from that.

Way back in days of old

There was a legend told

About a hero known as Galavant

Happy watching everyone!
