Tom Holland Posts Cryptic Instagram Message After 'No Way Home' Trailer Leak

What Did He Mean By This?

Tom Holland's third outing as Spider-Man, titled No Way Home, is easily one of, if not the most, anticipated entries into the MCU thus far. The previous entry, Far from Home, ended with a huge cliffhanger and saw the return of J K Simmons' version of J Jonah Jameson. As the years have passed since Far from Home's release, we have had a ton of rumors and confirmations as to the potential plot of the new film and have also found out that it will also see the return of many Spider-Man villains from previous iterations of the character. Most notably, Alfred Molina's return as Doctor Octopus from Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man 2 and Jamie Foxx's return as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. With it being confirmed that Phase 4 of the MCU will focus on the multiverse, fans have let their imaginations go wild as to what this could mean for potential future projects.

The new film has been slated to release December 17. However, there had been no word of when a trailer was going to drop (much to many fans' annoyance), until now. It has long been believed a trailer would be shown on August 23, due to it marking the beginning of CinemaCon. However, many fans woke up the day before to the news that the trailer had been leaked.

The trailer was not of great quality, but, having personally seen it, you can see and hear enough to work out the general theme of the movie. Since its leak, though, Sony have scrambled to get it removed from everywhere. In spite of this, Tom Holland (Spider-Man himself) posted a very cryptic story on his Instagram, in which he stated "You ain't ready." You can check it out below:

Holland has become somewhat notorious for leaking information on Marvel projects, along with fellow Avenger Mark Ruffalo, but even he seems to have learned his lesson as he has been extremely tight-lipped about his upcoming threequel. Seeing as it is a leak and the quality is pretty bad, we do still have to take it with a pinch of salt and wait the proper trailer to fully appreciate the full spectacle and keep an eye out for any potential spoilers or Easter eggs. With it also being all but confirmed both Maguire's and Garfield's past iterations of Spider-Man will make an appearance in the new move as well, it's likely the proper trailer will include some sort of nod to them to continue the fan hype surrounding the movie.

As stated above, there is a lot we do know about the film, in terms of who will be in it. But with it basically connecting to WandaVision, Loki, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it remains to be seen just how it will actually deliver all it seems to be promising.

Now that the cat has been well and truly let out of the bag, Sony are in a position where they are going to need to release something official very soon in order to keep fans satisfied. For now, Holland's post is just causing more questions than answers. The film itself has been the subject of many fan theories and discussions since it was announced, and many fans have become extremely frustrated by the way in which its marketing has been handled. Considering it's only four months away from apparent release and merchandise has provided some small spoilers in the last few weeks, it is strange that we haven't had so much as a poster for the movie. Kevin Feige has confirmed a trailer will drop before the film is released, but it seems now like their back is somewhat against the wall thanks to the leak.

As always, though, we will keep you updated with any new developments as and when they happen.

Until next time!
