Just when we thought we couldn't love #Netflix any more than we already do, they go and give us another reason.

The streaming service has announced it penned a stunning seven-figure deal for a movie pitch from the talents of actor Tom Hardy (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises) and Academy Award-winning director Ridley Scott (Alien, Gladiator, Blade Runner, The Martian) which tackles a story about the real lives of Navy SEALs.

Prepare For War Party

The film, titled War Party, it reported to have Tom Hardy attached to star. Andrew Dominik, director of the #BradPitt and Casey Affleck film The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, is set to direct.

Ridley Scott's production company Scott Free Films - which he founded with his late brother Tony Scott - will produce the film. Scott's production company has already worked with Hardy on his FX period drama Taboo, producing nine episodes of the British series.

Details for War Party are being kept secret, but it is described as being based on true events and centers on real-life Navy SEALs. Life rights was part of the deal and a release date is unknown. According to sources, competition for the project was immense with Netflix managing to outbid such studios as Amazon, Universal and Lionsgate, among others to nab the project.

Scott And Hardy Are Set To Own The Summer Box Office

Both Scott and Hardy have huge films coming up in the next few months. You can catch Scott's return to his Alien franchise with #AlienCovenant, arriving in theaters on May 19th. (Check out the trailer below.) Hardy will re-team with his Inception director on the highly anticipated WWII film, #Dunkirk set to hit theaters on July 21st.
