Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were listed on Doctor strange and the multiverse of madness by google. As exciting as this is may not be accurate the way google gets this information.

This has happened before with things like Venom listing Tom Holland.

Google gets this information from around the web, Taking names mentioned with a Project and associating them.

Upon checking IMDB for confirmation no mention of the former spider men was there.

Now that's out of the way let's talk about what we know.

Sam Raimi is directing Doctor Strange and the multiverse of madness, Sam Raimi is the director of the first Spider-Man trilogy and whatever you think about Spider-Man 3, let him off the hook a bit the studio stuck their hands in too much. Sam Raimi has a history of bringing back his friends for cameo's (Bruce Campbell) and Sam Raimi was very passionate about his Spider-Man movies and was very burnt on the way everything went down in the end, with his vision for Spider-Man 4 being completely destroyed. If there's anything Marvel could have said to Sam Raimi (a Horror genre director) to get him on a new superhero project, it would have been "You can put a final touch on your story".

If there is any time to bring in the multiverse it is now. Spoilers, Most of the Avengers are gone and Tom Holland is gonna need help after the events of his most recent film.

Now that's a good reason to do it but is it happening?

Well we know for a fact is that Jamie Foxx's Electro will be returning in Tom Hollands Spider-Man 3. Not a different version, the same version in the Amazing Spider man 2.

With Morbius including Michael Keaton's Vulture and The Scorpion being teased in Homecoming, seems like we're gearing up for the Sinister Six with Jamie Foxx's Electro seemingly joining the bunch. These moves are showing Sony's willingness to play ball.

Now to the rumors.

IMDB reported Marvel has signed Tobey Maguire for Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Let's be honest here if it's gonna be a multiverse movie they will need to include alternate heroes to give the fans what they want. So why not pull from some of the most beloved entries in the Superhero Genre? Kevin Feige who has been the head over at marvel loves those films and Sam Raimi will get to put his hands back on a character backed by a studio that has shown for the past 10 years it is committed to quality.

For now take all of this with a small grain of salt but Jamie Foxx's electro ( the strangest character to pull from past films) is confirmed to be joining the project. The leads from the past two films don't seem to out of the question and Marvel knows after Endgame they have to do something new to wow the fans.

We could very well be living in a reality where we get to look upon Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire and Tom hardy's venom standing off against the Sinister Six in New York city. We haven't seen Tom Holland Swinging around New York much yet but what better way to cap off a trilogy than to have the Old Guard of the Spider-men shepherding the new generation through his toughest fight, Giving closure and one last salute to previous characters.

Tobey Maguire was my childhood Spider-Man, I grew up watching Aunt May telling peter "There's a hero in all of us". The grounded feel of the original trilogy due to Sam Raimi's directing style is still unlike a lot of superhero movies we see today, I wouldn't want anyone else directing that version of the character.
