On May 2nd, 2011, the God of Thunder debuted in his first solo film Thor. That means that this past Sunday, May 2 2021, was his 10 year anniversary of joining this now highly successful franchise.

Let's take a look at Thor's journey.

The audience first sees our mighty hero as he is about to be crowned the king of Asgard, his home planet. However, his ceremony gets interrupted by Frost Giants who have snuck onto the planet to steal The Casket from Asgard. Thor's first instinct is to go to the Jotunheim and attack the Frost Giants there instead of taking his father's advice to not seek out war for an act of possible extremists. Because of Thor's actions, Odin sees him as an unworthy king and banishes him. In short, this banishment causes Thor to lose his home and everything he loves. He is no longer worthy to live Mjonir.

Then, Loki shows up and tells Thor that Odin has died. Now, with nothing but regret for spending his last moments with his father failing him. Loki finds out that he is actually the son of Laufey, a Frost Giant. Loki, who was taking over for Odin when Odin entered Odinsleep, sent the Destroyer on Earth to kill Thor. The Destroyer, controlled by Loki, then brutally attacked Thor. When it seemed like Thor was going to die, Mjonir returned to him and his powers were restored. Thor then fought The Destroyer and shut it down permanently.

Loki has a plan to destroy the Jotunheim and the Bifrost Bridge to prove himself worthy to Odin. He kills his father, Laufey. Thor arrives and stops Loki's plan, also destroying the Bifrost Bridge. Odin then awakens and prevents Thor and Loki from falling into the abyss, but Loki let's go and apparently dies.

The end credit scene of the film show Nick Fury discussing The Tesseract with Dr. Selvig, one of Jane Foster's colleagues.

After Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Widow successfully apprehend Loki, Thor arrives on Earth and takes him off of the Quinjet. Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America battle it out until Thor decides to help the humans stop Loki's evil plan. He tells of them of Loki's plan.

A brainwashed Clint Barton and other soldiers arrive and start attacking the Helicarrier. Thor goes to check on Loki and gets tricked into entering his prison cell. Loki then kills Agent Phil Coulson and sends Thor falling through the air in the prison cell.

Thor finds his way to New York where he finds that there is a portal with the Chitauri coming to attack. Thor joins the fight, and after The Avengers win, takes Loki and The Tesseract back to Asgard.

The next time we see Thor, he is fighting Marauders in Vanaheim. After they win, he returns to Asgard via the Bifrost Bridge that was rebuilt with the power of The Tesseract.

Then, Thor suddenly arrives on Earth to see Jane Foster. He takes her to Asgard because of her experience with the Aether and how it is effecting her since it stuck itself inside of her. Malekith, a Dark Elf, and his soldiers go to Asgard to retrieve the Aether. While protecting Jane, Frigga, Thor's mom, loses her life to Malekith.

Thor suggests to Odin that they must move Jane in order to protect the Asgardians, but he forbids it. Thor and his friends then commit treason to escape Asgard. After some manipulation, Malekith begins to remove the Aether from Jane. Thor then tries to destroy The Aether but fails. After battling the Dark Elves, Loki appears to die in Thor's arms.

Thor and Jane return to Earth to find a number of portals have been opened up. Malekith arrives and Thor begins to fight him. Eventually, Thor impales Malekith and later gets killed after being teleported to Svartalfheim with huge debris joining on top of him.

Thor then returns to Asgard and speaks with Odin, who after Thor is gone, is revealed to be Loki.

The Avengers go to Strucker's facility to retrieve Loki's scepter. They succeed and come across Wanda and Pietro Maximoff.

After, there is a party at Avengers Tower. The Avengers individually attempt to lift Thor's hammer and all of them fail (except for Steve Rogers, who moves it a little bit and then pretends like he couldn't). Then, Ultron makes his first appearances and attacks them.

Ultron recruits Wanda and Pietro and head to South Africa to get Vibranium. The Avengers make their way there to confront Ultron and stop him. As they attempt to stop Ultron, most of the Avengers, including Thor, get hypnotized by Wanda. Thor's hallucination inspires him to travel to the Water of Sights to find out what his hallucination means.

Next time we see Thor, he is using his power to bring Vision to life. Vision is the Vibranium body in the cradle that Ultron was attempting to steal and Bruce and Tony had been modifying. Vision is brought to life. Thor explains to the group that the yellow stone in Vision's head is an infinity stone.

The Avengers find out Ultron is going to Sokovia and they go there to fight. With a Vibranium core, Ultron lifts the country off of the ground and plans to drop it, causing the end of the planet. Tony comes up with a plan to make the country's land explode rather than allowing it to drop back onto the surface. Thor uses his hammer to strike the Vibranium core and the city shatters into debris.

Thor tells the group that he is going to return to Asgard to learn more about the infinity stones.

Thor is chained up by a being called Surtur. Once he escapes with Surtur's crown, he returns to Asgard to lock it away in the Asgardian Vault. When he arrives, he is met by Skurge who has replaced Heimdall. Skurge tells Thor that Heimdall is now an enemy of the people. Confused, Thor flies to the castle.

He finds a lot of Loki memorabilia, and a play being put on about Loki's life. He finds Odin and confronts him. Odin reveals himself to be Loki. Loki attempts to take Thor to where he left Odin, but the old folks home on Earth is gone. Loki suddenly disappears and Thor is given a business card with Doctor Strange's address.

Then, the two meet and Doctor Strange questions Thor about why he brought his brother to Earth. After some explanation, Doctor Strange makes a portal to Odin and then frees Loki from his trap, which was a constant state of falling. They walk through the portal to see Odin.

After a long heartfelt conversation, Odin reveals that he has a first born daughter who will be released once he dies. Odin then dies and Hela arrives. She breaks Mjonir and Loki summons the Bifrost. Hela pushes Thor and Loki out of the Bifrost portal and they fall in the abyss while she heads to Asgard.

Thor and Loki end up on Sakaar, a planet run by The Grandmaster. Thor is collected by Valkyrie to be a contender to fight the Grandmaster's champion.

The fight begins and it is revealed that the Grandmaster's champion is The Hulk, who arrived there way after the fight in Sokovia. They battle and Thor discovered his lightning abilities. The Grandmaster electrocutes Thor and the fight ends in a draw (appearing that the Hulk won).

Thor wakes up in a room with The Hulk. After some time, The Hulk gets Valkyrie to come and Thor tricks her into giving him the machine that controls his electrocuting button that she originally attached to his neck. He escapes and finds the quinjet to try and escape. The Hulk destroys the ship, Natasha Romanoff comes on the screen, and Bruce Banner comes back out.

Valkyrie finds Thor and Bruce and brings them to Loki. They devise a plan to escape Sakaar, and once they do, head to Asgard to defeat Hela.

Thor's fight with Hela results in him losing on of his eyes. As they fight on the Bifrost Bridge, Thor comes up with the idea to enact Ragnarok and Loki goes to The Vault to put Surtur's crown in the Eternal Flame. The Asgardians escape on a ship and the heroes join. Hela attempts to fight off Surtur and Asgard explodes.

Thor and the survivors are on the ship flying through space and is met with Thanos' ship.

The Guardians of the Galaxy arrive and save Thor from floating in space. Thor tells them that the reality stone is on Knowhere, and the split up. Rocket Raccoon and Groot goes with Thor to Nidavellir in hopes to get a new hammer. Rocket gifts Thor and extra eye that he stole.

They arrive at Nidavellir and Thor finds out only one of the dwarfs survived, but Thanos has his hands covered in melted Uru metal. There is a mold for an axe called Stormbreaker and they attempt to awaken the heart of the dying star.

To melt the metal, Thor realizes that he has to hold the doors open himself. This shows that he is stronger than the strongest metal used to make his hammer and axe. The axe is formed, but the handle is missing. Groot grows his arm out long and turns it into the hammer to save Thor.

Thor uses Stormbreaker to summon the Bifrost and the three of them go to Wakanda where they join the battle.

Thanos arrives and the Avengers fail. he collects the last infinity stone, the mind stone from Vision's head, and Thor throws his axe into Thanos' chest. Thanos snaps his fingers and tells him he should have went for the head.
