The fan excitement is no doubt buzzing today as Marvel dropped the first teaser trailer for Thor Love and Thunder. I'm imagining offices with people crouched in front of their computers, guys sitting in the bathrooms at work, eyes glued to their cellphones, and people in homes around the world cheering.

Now that we’ve all had about three watches of the trailer and soiled ourselves with excitement…they’ve finally delivered a teaser for Thor Love and Thunder. If you haven’t watched it yet, are you even a Marvel fan? If not, maybe Thor Love and Thunder will be the one to convert you because this peak at the movie makes it look like it’ll not only be the best of the Thor installments in the MCU but also one of their most fun movies, yet.

Thor Love And Thunder

It's been a while since making an appearance for the MCU and Natalie Portman is back and packing more of a punch than ever in the first of what I expect will be two or three trailers for "Thor: Love and Thunder."

The fourth film in the "Thor" series welcomes both Natalie Portman (Jane Foster) and returning director Taika Waititi, who was responsible for the acclaimed "Thor: Ragnarok." Love and Thunder follow the ending of "Avengers: Endgame," which concluded with Thor somewhat lost in the universe afte the downfall of Asgard and the loss of Loki. At the end of Endgame, we saw Thor leave Earth with the Guardians, promising an insane possibility from the writers at Marvel.

The teaser starts with Thor as a member of the ragtag group of heroes, showing Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper (R0ckett), and Vin Diesel as Groot. We also get glimpses of the rock gladiator and Thor's friend, Korg (Waititi), and Tessa Thompson. Arguably, the teaser saves the absolute best moment for the last, when Natalie Portman's Jane Foster is shown to the world as the new, Mighty Thor! Fortunately, unlike Chris Hemsworth, Portman is not wearing a beard.

The trailer is set to Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child O' Mine," and from the start, it looks like Thor is on a mission. A mission of self-discovery. He comments that his hands were once used for battle, "now they're but humble tools for peace," as he puts aside the Stormbreaker Axe and begins to enjoy an intergalactic sunset.

"Now I need to figure out exactly who I am."

-Thor

The teaser shows Thor going through a weight-loss montage including him training with chains instead of ropes. He claims his superhero days have come to an end as he leaves behind the Guardians to forge his own path, alongside Korg.

The "Love and Thunder" storyline is based on Jason Aaron's acclaimed run on the comic book, "The Mighty Thor," which saw Jane Foster, Thors' ex-girlfriend, take up the mantle of Thor after the magically powered hammer Mjolnir deems Thor unworthy and takes his powers. In the comics, Foster's newfound power comes at a price. Whenever she uses the hammer, her breast cancer becomes worse. Whether the story will follow the comic to the same ending is unclear, and likely to have people on the edge of their seats.

Along with some old faces, "Love and Thunder" will bring new members to the franchise. Christian Bale is playing Gorr the God Butcher as a new addition to the Marvel Canon. His character was created by Esad Ribic and Jason Aaron in 2013. Melissa McCarthy and her husband Ben Falcone are rumored to have a cameo. Jenny Morris and Simon Russel Beale are cast in undisclosed roles for the movie. Lastly, Jaimie Alexander, Sean Gunn, and Jeff Goldblum are reprising their MCU roles.

Thor: Love and Thunder premieres in theaters July 8th.
