Vivek Agnihotri’s numerous achievements as a filmmaker in Hindi films, dating back to ‘Buddha in a Traffic Jam,’ are growing by day by day. Who’d have expected the director of “Chocolate” and “Hate Story” would have such a change of heart, but as the saying goes, “it’s never a good moment,” and Vivek’s situation is no different.

Vivek’s most recent film, ‘The Tashkent Files,’ captured the attention of audiences all around the world. Three years ago, the picture was a surprising hit. In his latest film, ‘The Kashmir Files,’ Vivek has brought the DNA of the same film. He attempted to tell the truth about the killing of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri last time, but this time he has revealed the most critical problem in Kashmir.

Whatever comes your way will shake you from the inside out. Although some may argue that the film isn’t technically brilliant, the film’s magnificence is the reality. Even all the directors who came out of Kashmir lacked the bravery to convey the truth.

The film ‘The Kashmir Files’ is an effort to rewrite history by reversing those ‘files’ in which India is the narrative of the world’s largest migration as a result of the country’s horrendous killings. The Kashmiri Pandit group is likely the only one in the country that was expelled from their homes after independence, and there has been no movement in any region of this country with a population of crores.

Big leaders have been filling the power of the country being unified from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on a regular basis, and this defining characteristic of its state may make anybody embarrassed. Beginning 32 years ago, the film’s plot opens with a pivotal event in which a major issue is addressed under the guise of cricket. The events in the Valley were traumatic.

On TV or screen, it’s much more excruciating. This is a terrifying face that has to be seen by the entire world. In recounting the narrative, there was also the risk of it turning into a documentary, but one must play with the risks in order to deliver the truth to the public. And this kind of horrible risk has been taken by talented, brilliant director Vivek Agnihotri. Salute for his courage.

The Kashmir File — What happened in Kashmir on 19 January 1990?

The 19th of January, 1990, was a frigid morning. Other slogans rang out from Kashmir’s mosques that day, in addition to the azaan. ‘Yahan kya chalega, Nizam-e-Mustafa,’ ‘If you want to stay in Kashmir, Allahu Akbar kehna hai,’ and ‘Asi gachi Pakistan, batv roas ta batnev san,’ all signify that we want Pakistan and Hindu women, but not their men. The Hindu Pandits in Kashmir received this message. For the last few months, he had been getting threats.

That day, hundreds of Hindu households felt anxious. In the name of Islam and Pakistan, arguments erupted on the streets. Hindus were the target of venomous attacks.
