The Lord Of The Rings Merch: 6 Oddities Fans Will Want To Own
We wants it, we needs it. Must have The Lord Of The Rings merch!
There is no shortage of merchandise available for purchase in a fandom as enormous as one like The Lord of the Rings. Options range from fan-created art, Etsy shop products, or mass-produced memorabilia. All it takes is a quick Google search, and endless possibilities come up for the standard t-shirts, snow globes, or Funko Pop figurines.
As a lifelong fan, I tend to take an interest in the more unique pieces of nerdy collectibles. I’ve seen the shirts “advertising” the “Mordor Fun Run.” I own a metal sign with Sam Gamgee’s face “promoting” “Gamgee’s Famous Po-Ta-Tos - Boiled, Mashed, Stuck in a Stew.” The snow globe of the Hobbits hiding off the road while one of the Nazgul is sniffing for them is impressive. But bring me your quirky, your unique, your bonkers memorabilia! My kingdom for something one of a kind!
After searching high and low, here are some of my most favorite and unique pieces of Lord of the Rings merchandise available now.
Numskull Tubbz Rubber Duckies
These Lord of the Rings-inspired rubber duckies created by TUBBZ honestly gave us the initial idea for this article. The detail on each of the twelve available ducks is incredible. Ther facial expressions bring so much dimension. I love that Gollum’s duck has a fish and visible, scraggly teeth. My favorite, if I could pick a favorite, has to be either Gandalf or Gimli. Which one is your favorite? Pre-order all of them now!
Forceofthehabitleather Mallorn Leaf Ipad Cover
My next favorite item is this iPad/journal cover from forceofhabitleather on Etsy. This cover comes in two sizes. The larger size is large enough for a standard-sized iPad, and the smaller size can accommodate a smaller journal. The creator includes in the description that “IF YOU WOULD LIKE A CUSTOM SIZE: shoot me a message and I can easily accommodate on a case by case basis.” I love this one because it genuinely looks precisely like the Mallorn leaf wrapping on the Lembas Bread! The craftsmanship is unbelievable. It is a beautiful but subtle way to broadcast your love of Middle-earth.
ThinkGeek Furry Adventure Slippers
These are probably an all-time fan favorite. ThinkGeek originally posted these Hobbit feet slippers for sale. They are currently out of stock with ThinkGeek, but men’s and women’s sizes are carried on Amazon by Ibeauti. You can find them here. These are the most comfortable way to join the Proudfoots! Even if it is, after all, ProudFEET!
Adagio Teas
These tea blends are one of the most exciting finds. This website allows creators to sell their unique blends of herbal tea. Teas are created and sorted by the fandom that inspired their creation. All of the major players are there with The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and similar franchises represented in herbal tea blends. But I was also super excited to find smaller, lesser-known fandoms represented as well, like The Dresden Files! There is even a series of blends based on banned books, Wonderland, and H.P. Lovecraft’s ideas. For an herbal tea drinker of any fandom, this website has something for everyone! My favorites, of course, are the LOTR-inspired blends such as “Second Breakfast,” “Wizard’s Grey,” “Forest Draught,” “111th Birthday”, and so many more.
Honorable Mentions
My final two products are merely honorable mentions. Neither of these items are in stock, and I’m not entirely sure they will be stocked any time again soon. I couldn’t possibly make a list including unique fandom merch and not include this Hobbit Hole Playhouse Kit! Who wouldn’t love to have their very own hobbit hole right in the backyard? These Gandalf vs. Saruman salt and pepper shakers were too perfect as well! Sadly, these are also out of stock. Maybe one of our readers is crafty enough to revive some of these incredibly unique items!
Which of these creative or unusual pieces of memorabilia is your favorite? Please send me your best recommendations for items I’ve missed out on in my search! The weirder, the better! Your suggestions could inspire a follow-up article with updated oddities!
