The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special!

Christmas specials are one of the most fun things about the holiday season for many people and this year, the fans of Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy are getting a surprise on Disney Plus.

Peter is from Earth, and the holidays in space aren't overly cheery. So when his friends decide to save Christmas for the man sometimes known as Star-Lord, what would they do other than go to Earth and bring with them the kind of hijinks and chaos that the Guardians have humorously become known for? But, what do you get for the man that has everything, asks Bradley Cooper's Rocket?

Even as a child with the Ravengers Peter talked fondly of the one movie he remembered, Footloose, and how Kevin Bacon saved a town. As an adult, he's never forgotten Kevin Bacon's dance-off, and he even participated in one to save the Galaxy. Mantis and Drax head off to Earth, find their way to Hollywood, and proceed to steal Kevin Bacon as a Christmas present for their wayward leader.

Wandering the streets of Hollywood with her all-black eyes and antennae, Mantis leads the muscle of the team, Drax (Dave Bautista) on a mission to find Kevin Bacon. Looking the way they do, Hollywood is the obvious place to land their ship and go for a stroll in the middle of the day. What could go wrong as the two extraterrestrials comb Hollywood, planning their first bit of human trafficking?

Kevin Bacon is a pure talent that is timeless to watch and entering into the Marvel Universe proves to be no exception. Going about his business, preparing for Christmas with his real-life wife and family, Bacon is caught by surprise when Drax the Destroyer and Mantis, who shows her powers for the first time, appear at his house.

"You're coming with us, as a Christmas present."

Bacon takes off on the run, but it's all for not as we see a powered-up Drax and Mantis chase him down, desperate to take him as a Christmas present for Peter. What else would you do if Drax the Destroyer busted into your house with an alien with all black eyes, and announced they were taking you away? A little late for the holidays is one thing, but Kyra Sedgwick might not understand being late because you're a hostage in space.

The warm and fuzzy feeling of the spirit of the special is on full display as Marvel manages to wrap in Christmas music, with a delightful Guardians twist, and a special performance by Kevin Bacon. What more could you ask for out of Disney, Marvel, The Guardians, or Kevin Bacon? How about a genuine character reveal about Star-Lord, one that changes his status in the galaxy?

From the foot chase from Bacon's home to where the police are coming, and down the rabbit hole of wondering about the GoBots, to Drax's fascination with the blow-up elf, this is pure Christmas entertainment at its best. Even, getting past the point that kidnapping Kevin Bacon from Earth is human trafficking, Christmas in Nowhere, is a wonderful addition to the season. It's full of laughs, hijinks, emotions, and fun musical numbers that will keep any viewer entertained.

For Marvel fans, this is likely to be a hit this holiday season as many people enjoy the fun of a Christmas special that isn't lengthy, isn't overly done, and is timely. Some people still have their old favorites, but a timely addition to the list of Christmas specials for people to enjoy is a nice surprise from Marvel and Disney Plus.
