The Gentlemen 2024 Review

The Gentlemen is a crime comedy-drama series that was released on Netflix. Let me tell you that this series has a total of 8 episodes, and each episode is between 40 and 60 minutes long. And whatever good or bad experience I have had, I am sharing it.

Story

So first, let me tell you a little about the story of this series.

In this series, you will see the story of Eddie. After the death of his father, all the property or business is transferred to Eddie, and then Eddie comes to know that there is a big drug empire hidden under the land of his family house. Eddie has to face some dangerous people associated with the world of crime, and whether Eddie will be able to keep himself and his family away from the world of crime or not, you will have to watch this series to know all this.

The Gentlemen 2024 Review

Now let's talk about my experience watching this series. So first of all, let me tell you that this series is a spin-off of The Gentlemen, which was released in 2019, but to watch this series, you do not need to watch that film.

Story- and character-wise, this series has no relation to that film; you can directly watch this series.

Now the question is, how did I like this series? Look, this series has been made by Guy Ritchie, and Guy Ritchie has already made some very good movies in the crime genre. He has a special storytelling style, and many people are fans of that style. I am also a small fan of his storytelling style and was waiting a lot for the release of this series, and now that I have seen The Gentlemen series, all I can say is that this series is mindless entertainment.

And overall, it is a fun experience, especially since the beginning of this series is quite good. The first two episodes are quite entertaining, hence developing your interest in the story and characters.

And only the first two episodes have been directed by Guy Ritchie himself; those two episodes are a very good start to this series, and then the subsequent episodes have been directed by different directors.

And he has also continued the style or tone of Guy Ritchie.

But the problem is the writing of this series; it is not a cleverly written show, and after the first two to three episodes, the fun of the story starts fading.

You will start feeling that the story is dragging or stretching more than necessary. In my view, this series could have easily ended within six episodes.

All the subplots you will see in this series will not add anything special to the main storyline, but the good thing is that the main characters of this series are fun to watch.

You will get to see the very colorful or interesting personalities of the characters, and because of the characters, you will remain engaged in this series from start to finish. You will definitely see the characters dealing with some funny situations in this show.

Overall, this series will definitely entertain you in some parts. In this series, you will get to see the use of dark comedy, which will make you laugh a little at some places, and you will also get to see twists and turns in the story. But mostly the twist of this series is predictable, and there is very little action in this series, so if you go to watch this series only for action, then you will be quite disappointed, but you will definitely get to see violence.

The acting of other actors is good; the music or production work of the show is also good.

Conclusion

In short, in my view, this series is a fun-to-watch experience. If you like watching crime comedy shows, then you can pass a good amount of time by watching this show; just do not keep your expectations too high.

This series is intended for mature audiences as it includes explicit content such as brief scenes of intimacy and nudity, along with depictions of violence. The dialogue features adult language.

The first season wraps up its story-line in a satisfying manner, providing a complete narrative that doesn't require a second season for resolution.

However, the creators have skillfully left the possibility of a continuation open, should they choose to explore further in a potential second season. Viewers won't be left hanging, but the narrative also leaves room for future developments if the creators decide to revisit the story in a subsequent season.
