Disney Plus started teasing its viewers weeks ago about a new upcoming series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Disney Plus’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, just like WandaVision, will take place shortly after the Avengers: Endgame. The new series’ lists of characters include Anthony Mackie as Falcon, Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier, and Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, also known as Agent 13, to name a few.

During the past eight weeks, Disney Plus brought us superhero gold with their WandaVision sitcom. Fans, old and new, took to their television sets each Friday, nervously anticipating what Wanda or Vision’s next move would be.

The brilliantly written script offered us all kinds of fan theories to ponder and groomed us for future Marvel masterpieces. Now that the WandaVision series has come to an end, Marvel Studios is about to release The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which also appears to be full of mystery.

When cryptic information is offered for a popular franchise, especially in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the internet is flooded with fan anticipation and theories. Honestly, it is just as much fun reading fan theories online as watching the show.

So let us take a trip around the internet, specifically on Reddit, and explore some fun fan theories about The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Before you read on, these theories could contain potential spoilers. You have been warned.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier Fan Theory #1: Working With The Enemy?

Reddit user, abboudi124, has a theory that Sam and Bucky are working with Zemo.

This fan even created a video to support their theory. Watch it here.

This particular theory is interesting because Helmut Zemo and Bucky are certainly not on good terms. Zemo framed Bucky for the Vienna bombing in Captain America: Civil War. Zemo also plotted to destroy the Avengers, so he isn’t exactly the first person Sam and Bucky would turn to for help. Teaming up with such a vile enemy seems like a longshot but based on abboudi124’s breakdown of the trailers, a convincing possibility.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier Fan Theory #2: Sam is too Weak to be Captain America?

Reddit user, Water2Wine378, presents a theory that Sam is too weak to be the next Captain America.

This theory is feasible as there is evidence of Sam’s action scenes as The Falcon in the trailers. In another scene, Sam is somberly staring at the Captain America shield behind glass. Also, to Water2Wine378’s point, Sam is only seen throwing the shield in the trailer, not catching it. Bucky is shown catching the shield after Sam throws it towards a tree. As far as Sam receiving a formula to get that Captain America type strength, it isn’t beyond the realm of possibility. We all know that is how Captain and Bucky gained their power.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier Fan Theory #3: Luke Cage Makes a Surprise Appearance?

Reddit user, MyNameIsBillyBobJoe1, theorizes that Luke Cage will reappear as Power Man in the MCU as part of introducing the super serum experiment.

The super serum’s involvement with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier storyline would be an excellent excuse to reintroduce Luke Cage. His character has already received the TV show treatment on Netflix and is loved by fans. Sneaking him into an episode would not be a bad idea if Marvel plans to include Luke Cage in future shows and movies.

However, if I had to guess, Luke's involvement being more than just a cameo would not make sense. The show’s focus is obviously Sam and Bucky. Luke Cage being involved in more than one episode seems unlikely since there are only six episodes in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series. The more likely scenario is that Luke Cage would be reintroduced in an end-credit scene.

I personally think Marvel fan theories are fun and make waiting for the shows exciting for fans. If any of these come true, we must applaud these Reddit users for their superior instinctual guessing. If they are wrong, we must all forget and encourage these fans to keep on theorizing.
