The Boys are back in town and I am so excited for this final season. I was not a huge fan of last season, I have a lot of issues with it and we might get into that but I loved this last season of Gen V and I can’t wait to see how it ties into the main story. Also I get a little Supernatural reunion this season and that makes my 14 year old SuperWhoLock heart happy.
For those of you that don’t remember last season left off with Kimiko and Frenchie finally admitting their feelings for each other (executed as poorly as humanly possible), Kimiko can finally speak, some of our heroes were captured, oh and Butcher’s dying.
The commentary is coming out swinging and it couldn’t be less subtle. If you are watching this show as a republican and don’t understand that it's about you I’m so sorry for your lack of brain cells but this first episode literally opens with a USA chant. They really see someone with superpowers wearing colors that match the American flag and lose all common sense.
Sage seems to be the only one that can temper Homelander.
They are literally claiming “fake news”, it's too real I actually might not be able to make it through this season. It’s almost too much. Also Homelander wigging out about how people shouldn’t be able to make fun of him on the internet…Kripke is literally spoon-feeding these parallels to you. The only step he could take to go further is using Trump's actual tweets.
My sweet Kimiko…she has been my favorite character from the very beginning and Karen Fukuhara is the most beautiful women on the planet.
The Deep having a bro podcast makes perfect sense and calling my sweet Annie a 3 out of 10 makes me want to rip his dick off and feed it to him. Erin is 10/10 every day of the week.
It does look like they are going to introduce the kids from Gen V pretty early which I appreciate.
The fact that Homelander has gaslit the country so hard that he convinced himself that he didn’t let a plane full of people die. He’s actually so delusional he believes his own bullshit. He’s so unhinged.
IS THAT DAVEED DIGGS???? I love him so much, oh my god I just fangirled so hard. Oh my jeez, yay.
Mother’s Milk being passed his OCD would normally be seen as character growth but it's so clear that he’s at rock bottom and this isn’t something good for him. It’s delivered in a way that shows the audience that he’s just given up, his OCD doesn’t control him anymore because he doesn’t really feel like he has a reason to live.
The change in Annie has been happening over a long period of time and we are now seeing her crash out, she has hit her rock bottom and her morals are a little looser because the end goal DOES in fact justify the means in this case. No matter what the resistance does they will never cause as much damage as Homelander.
That’s my girl! Fuck yeah Annie. Way to blind everyone, god I love her so much. Frenchie and Kimiko do have my heart and I love that they are finally together. I just really wish it was handled better last season. It was a big moment and we deserved actual build up, not a random kiss after putting their relationship on the back burner for the whole season.
Not only are they saving their people, they are blowing Homelander’s plan to hell and that is my favorite thing. YAY A-Train!!!! Seriously I am having so many feelings about this first episode and I am so happy about it. Erik Kripke came out swinging this season.
Talk about character development A-Train almost obliterates this woman, but instead he fucks himself to save her life. If he dies this early I’m actually gonna be really upset but I am so proud of his development. Yeah hate that he died, I’m not happy but at least he got under Homelander’s skin first.
