The Boys Prep

It has been longer than expected for the fourth season of The Boys to come out. And we more than appreciate the solidarity from Erik Kripke with the writers strike but that means that we may have forgotten some major points. So if you don’t plan on rewatching season 3 before season 4 comes out we are here to recap all the things that you need to remember.

First things first: Starlight was pretty much ostracized and villainized by Vought. Vought has done its best to turn the public against Starlight. So the public has been clearly divided and taken sides for either Starlight or Homelander. Annie worked with the boys for much of the season and did her best to take out Homelander but that didn’t work so she is very much in danger as this new season starts.

The first thing that we need to remember is that Season 3 introduced Temp V. Temporary compound V that gives the user powers for 24 hours. The powers vary by person of course and the users last season were Butcher and Huey. Huey got a bit addicted and his poor fragile ego needed it so that he could keep up with Starlight because he hated being saved by a girl. Anyway in season 3 I also started hating Huey.

Under the threat of Homelander and Soldier Boy, Queen Mauve faked her death. So her appearance in the next season is really up in the air. I kind of want the season 3 finale to be our goodbye to her because I love her with my whole heart and I want her to be safe. I also know how writing works and if they bring her back she will probably be killed off and I think that would be a really poor decision.

Season 4 is also going to pick up right where Gen V left off so we need to remember that there is a supe killing virus that is now in the hands of the congresswoman. There was also a Butcher and Homelander cameo appearance. Which means there may be a new addition to the seven come season 4. We might see some of those teenagers in this upcoming season. Now I don’t think you are going to need to watch the show in order to watch season 4, Kripke is pretty good about explanation so if you haven't seen Gen V I still think you’ll be fine.

Soldier Boy was found, released and used to try and take out Homelander. Oh yeah Soldier boy is Homelander’s father. After this plan goes south the team is forced to put Soldier Boy back on ice. So him returning is also a possibility. I would love to see him and Jeffery Dean Morgan together again, as he has been cast in Season 4 though we don’t know as who yet.

Homelander has rallied a human fanbase that is totally chill with him just murdering people. For about half of the season Homelander was in charge of everything at Vought. Clearly using his power for as evil as it gets. We have now established that a good portion of the general public truly does not care how Homelander uses his powers.

Now that is a lot to work with for season 4. I am hoping for no more near death experience for Frenchie because I love him and I am super over him almost dying. I am also hoping that we finally take Homelander out. Now there has been some rumor that this season will be the last season of The boys so we can hope that the most infuriating character on television finally dies.
