Sheldon explains the theory to Penny to help her decide whether to go on a date with Leonard or cancel in order to preserve their friendship. At the end Leonard turns up for the date and kisses Penny, and the two decide that it doesn't matter if Schrodinger's cat is in the bag in the box or not when they go on the date.

The Big Bang Theory ended the show after a second — unlike most of the shows created by Chuck Lorre — with a vanity card written by Lorre after the credits, followed by the Warner Bros. television logo. A large milk jug full of gas exploded and took over the elevator that remained broken for the show's 12 seasons, saving everyone's lives.
