The Award for Best Actress in a TV Comic Book Series
In a recent article, I gave the award for the best actor in a TV comic book series; it's the ladies' turn now.
I recently made an article titled The Award for the Best Actor in a TV Comic Book Series where I talked about the best actors from this years seasons of comic book TV shows. It is the ladies turn now.
This one was actually much harder for me because I actually think that almost all of these five ladies had better performances than our favorite comic book men. Still a winner had to be chosen.
The Nominees Are...
Rose McIver: IZombie
Danai Gurrira: The Walking Dead
Chloe Bennet: Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D.
Hayley Atwell: Agent Carter
Melissa McBride: The Walking Dead
Rose McIver
McIver plays Liv Moore, on IZombie. Her portrayal of a more human zombie than we have ever seen, is somewhat of a breath of fresh air. She delivers a charming performance, that will make you fall in love with the character.
Chloe Gurrira
Danai Gurrira has quickly become one of my favorite actresses. I believe she is the best actor/actress on The Walking Dead and may be one of the most underrated actresses around currently.
Chloe Bennet
Chloe Bennet play Skye/Daisy on Agents of Sheild. She has grown as an actress from season one to season two. You can see the development, and she quickly became the fan favorite character on the show, outclassing Agent Coulson.
Hayley Atwell
Hayley Atwell plays Peggy Carter in Agent Carter. She shined as an actress in her shows debut. Giving us a great female character in the MCU.
Melissa McBride
Melissa McBride plays Carol on the hit zombie apocalypse show. Her acting ability was never in question, but in recent seasons she turned up the talent dial and proved to be one of the most talented actress on TV. Her dramatic acting ability is near unmatched.
And the Winner Is...
Hayley Atwell
Atwell starred in her own little corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and shined. While the show was near extinction, Atwell becoming a fan favorite, as well as delivering a good enough story, was able to warrant a second season.
That is one big reason why Atwell won this award. In my opinion she almost single handedly was what kept Agent Carter alive with her performance.
Her ability to play both dramatic as well as deliver a strong comedic performance was one of the most entertaining things to watch this year.
She portrayed the kick butt female hero that the comic book genre has sorely been missing. There were no female stereotypes to be found in her performance, and it was a great thing to see.
Hayley Atwell caught my attention this season, and I believe she may become a quick rising star in years to come.
