The 100 trailer, after much anticipation, finally dropped. The last season left off on quite the cliffhanger, and it’s been nearly a year since we’ve been able to check on the last remnants of the human population.

Spoilers for season four of The 100 (and potentially spoilers for season five).

The last season ended with a time jump, and we check in with Clarke after she’s survived for six years after Praimfiya, the deadly fire wave that destroyed most of the world. She’s radioed Bellamy every day for six years (in case there was any doubt they should be together.)

The season five trailer was great it showed glimpses of what happened in the last six years, as well as what’s to come. The mysterious Eligius ship that dropped down at the very end of the last season is presumably the villains for this season, and it looks like they want to take the last hospital patch of forest from Clarke which is not a good idea. I don’t care how tough they are. They’ve got nothing on Clarke.

We get some hints at what happened over the last few years. We see Clarke wondering a post-apocalyptic wasteland Mad Max style. She’s still trying to talk to Bellamy and trying to let him know there are no hard feelings for leaving her on Earth to die in a radioactive inferno. This is kind of fitting because at the end of season one, Clarke closed the door on Bellamy to be killed by grounder or roasted alive by the dropship.

From the looks of it, things were not going well in the bunker. Octavia is struggling to maintain her grasp as a leader, and it looks like martial prowess is still the deciding factor in the bunker. She gets some advice from Jaha whose advice is hit and miss, to be honest, but the trailer shows them getting out and joining the fight against Eligius.

Kane and Abby are there too. I couldn’t quite tell but it appeared Kane was also forced to participate in gladiatorial combat. At least, I was pretty sure it was him. This would be a departure from his peacemaker/diplomatic ways, but it highlights how bad things are in the bunker.

Octavia’s arc looks interesting as her story has gotten darker and darker, and, without Bellamy tempering the more murderous parts of her personality, she could wind up almost villainous.

Bellamy and the space gang tangle with Eligius on their ship, after showing that they might be having technical difficulties. This would explain why they’re a year late in returning to Earth. Also, everyone has new haircuts so you can tell time has passed.

So far, everything looks great. I can’t wait to see how Clarke handles the Eligius threat. Also, it will be interesting to see how Bellamy and Octavia interact after not seeing each other for six years.

Random Thoughts

Bellamy looks cool with his goatee, but it was funny that everyone gets new hairstyles, and Bellay still has the same goofy haircut.

The time jump works in the actors’ favor. The delinquents have supposed to teenagers and everyone on this cast looks almost 30.

I swear Bellarke needs to happen this season. That or Bellamy needs to get a restraining order. Clarke’s called him every day for six years. Looks like she finally got over Lexa.

Do you think Clarke cut her own hair? Or did she have her adopted daughter do it?

That last patch of green woods really looked like the Great Valley from Land Before Time? Also, I checked Google and they’re still making those movies. Little Foot should be almost 40 and thinking about his pension, but he’s still an eight-year-old dinosaur. Also, do not look up Little Foot's original voice actor. It's the saddest story in the world.

I can't wait for this to air.
