This series is about the adventures of reincarnated Satoru Mikami as a Slime. Having had died saving his subordinate from a crazed knife wielding maniac, the cute slime comes across the magically entrapped Storm Dragon: Veldora. This catastrophe level monster has been entombed in an elaborate cave system for 300 years and in an embarrassing moment admits he wants to be friends with the slime. Through a new bond of friendship Veldora renames the slime as Rimuru Tempest.

As an abnormally strong slime,nRimuru soon finds himself the hero and leader of a small Goblin village. Over time he earns worshippers, allies and enemies in the Great Jura Forest. With his knowledge from his previous life, he turns a small goblin village into the profitable Jura Tempest Federation. Thus earning him the wrath of the trading kingdom of Falmouth and the ire of the Holy Church who abhor monsters. This binge worthy content is available on Crunchyroll with part 2 of season 2 available in July 2021.

The exciting reincarnate/ fantasy world is a fun genre to get lost in. ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime’ has gained popularity and those of us who are fans are salivating for its continuation.

In the meantime, the following 5 shows are what I strongly recommend to fill in the boredom of the continuous wait.

Her current goal is make her way out of the dark and deadly caverns, and up into the clear outside world.

Unbeknownst to the spider, her classmates have reincarnated into humans or other human like beings. They learn to fight, study magic and ready themselves to fight against any demon or monsters. You’ll become entranced as you follow the new Hero’s path. Many plot twists and foreshadowing are used to keep you interested. For any spoilers, you’ll have to watch the show yourself. 2. Ascendence of a Bookworm

2019 By Ajia-do Animation Studio

Urano, a young woman whom loves books and is happily content as a librarian, meets her untimely demise under an avalanche of books. She soon wakes up in the sickly body of Myne, a five year old who harbors a deadly illness. She has full knowledge of her previous life and struggles not to seem off from those that new the original Myne. From making a simple shampoo to improving recipes or even crafting a new hairpin for her sister’s Baptism, life with Myne is never boring.

Myne’s only obsession is to return to her precious books. Unfortunately, actual books are only held by the nobility and not by commoners like her. Thus begins the search to make her own book. With the support of her family, a small boy named Lutz and the kindly Mr.Otto, her attempts become successful in time. Yet her mysterious illness flares up and she soon finds out she may have only a short time to live. In the search of the familiar, her love for her family and Myne’s quirky behavior will leave you wanting more. This show can be enjoyed on Crunchyroll and season 3 is in the making.

3. How NOT To Summon a Demon Lord

2018 by Ajia-do Animation Studio

Takuma Sakamoto aka the Demon Lord: Diablo, has dedicated his time to being #1 in the online MMORPG world of Cross Reverie. He suddenly finds himself summoned into a world similar to the game and in the body of Diablo himself. As it turns out, a pantherian named Rem and an elf called Shera were trying to summon and enslave a strong creature to help them on future adventures. However, they were not expecting a Diablo’s magic reflection to sabatoge their ritual. In a hilarious turn of events, they are the ones who end up enslaved to Diablo. Now they must find a way to free themselves.

Diablo is relatable character with his shyness, inability to talk to anyone and all the typical cliches he finds himself in. Putting on the act of a Demon Lord leaves Diablo exhausted and questioning himself. Full disclosure, this show has a harem quality with a side of sexiness. No full nudity is shown but do not watch in front of children. Still, this only adds to the hilarity as Diablo can not handle the women around him. Found on Crunchyroll, I’m excited for season 2 to roll out in April 2021.

4. Monster Girl Doctor

2020 art by Arvo Animation

Dr. Glen Litbeit is a human doctor that specializes in the healing of monsters. Considered an unusual profession, he runs the Litbeit clinic with his Iamia co-worker Saphentite Neikes, in the co-habiting city of Lindworm. This city is considered to be an advancement thanks to the many different types of monsters living with humans. Dr.Glen is dedicated to his work but finds himself in situations which earn him the infatuation of several monster women.

While Saphentite has a higher standing in his life as not only his assistant but as a beloved childhood friend, she shows how possessive she is when others come flocking to her man. Dr.Glen is put in unique situations that push him to his limits on medical knowledge. The underlying plot, life saving operations and fights over Dr Glen make this a fun show to watch. Found on Crunchyroll, season 2 is an unknown. As it officially stands, there is no official renewal for a second season yet no official notice of cancelation. Let’s hope they continue the series.

5. In Another World with My Smartphone

2017 by Reed Productions

Touya agrees and as a special request granted by God, he can take his smartphone with him.

Touya finds many beautiful and strong women as his traveling companions. From nobility to a samurai warrior, many women fall in love with Touya’s high morals and generous heart. As a ‘reward’ for being in the right place and time, Our herofinds himself unofficially engaged to Princess Yumina Urnea Belfast, who is excited at the prospect. Through out the storyline, ancient ruins and mechanisms are discovered and Touya is suspected of being a key player in saving this world’s future. The series is available on Crunchyroll and ends on a cliff hangar. Unfortunately there are no talks of a season 2. Still, check it out if you can.
