He refused, and was stabbed to death. The Warriors, the first gang movie, had dropped into the the theater that night. It dropped out the very next day. It was winter 1979, and there were still intermissions during movies.

The show was inspired by the figure of Spartacus, an enslaved Thracian who became a gladiator in the city of Capua, and went down in history for having led a slave rebellion against the Roman Republic between 73 and 71 B.C. Starz focused the structure of the show on the dark events that took place during Spartacus' early life.
